They are also quite clean and I can leave them for a weekend and not worry about them tearing up my house because someone knocked on my door.

If you live in a big city and are recently out of college making terrible money, you kinda need to have a roommate(s). I loved it. Was like an extension of college, but you're on your own with some money. Always have a drinking buddy or someone to watch the game with.

My cat must have been an outlier, he was still spraying even after being neutered.
Now he doesn’t. He is one lazy cookie though. He has gotten humongous though and always finds a quiet place to hide.
Of course, he is coexisting with a German Shepherd in the house. Luckily, they get along.

We have two cats and a crazy arse terrier. I'm counting the day until the dog dies.
The cats are great. I will upgrade in dog when the time comes, but it is possible to like both. You do not have to take a side.

I have the coolest dog and cat that are alive.
The cat we rescued when she hung out at our house. I thought I hated her. Turns out, I love her. She lives in the back yard. Sleeps on a dog bed. Roams the streets at night. When it's really cold outside, she comes in, lays on my chest, purrs and sleeps. Or acts funny as shite and plays games. When she needs to got take a piss or shite, she goes to the back door and meows, and I let her out.
As low maintenance as can be. I put out food and water, and that's it.
Now go 69 with your 25 year old man roommate.

Edgy or not, houses with inside animals are disgusting and the animals that are kept inside seem as weird as the people that keep them. If unsure, you can tell they have evolved to live outside by looking at their fur.
