Well my cat lived outside for 6 years before she came in and was never eaten.
My outside cats currently have been here a couple years now.
My dog would be just as likely to be eaten, if not moreso, while we are going that route. She’d think the coyote was a friend and run right up to it.

If you want a codependent animal that loves you primarily because you feed it, then go for the dog

You are an idiot. Survival in elements is not a sign of intelligence. You could throw highly educated scientists in the elements and a good portion would die, while animals with little intelligence survive easily.
Dogs were bred and evolved to depend on man, this is not a sign of the intelligence of the animal.

That just means you know nasty people who don’t clean after the animal they chose to have.
If you don’t clean the litter box twice a day, you’re a nasty human and it has nothing to do with cats.
Just like those trashies who choose to have an aquarium and don’t hook it up to the sink and clean it weekly.
