It’s Halloween? Not the most tasteful thing but Halloween is meant for scary stuff

I guess for me it is the audience. This was a kids float. I would see it differently if it were, say, for a Bourbon Street parade. This looked like someone being cure by half. Kids would not get it.

Auschwitz concentration camp seems like it was a pretty scary place to be in so.

That’s my thought.

No one would bat an eye over a Titanic or Hindenburg diorama with zombie passengers and crew, while those were undeniably tragic events. Yet this or 9/11 draws outrage.

Where’s the “too soon” or “too awful” line?

Make catholic grammar school great again

I had 12 years of it.

Was safe and full of discipline but not sure the actual education was ever great.

Years ago I toured the camp as a WWII history buff, not as a survivor / family member. There was a group of about 10 elderly Jews with a few family members ahead & as their group approached the infamous gate, one elderly gentleman froze at the entrance. As his group walked through the gate, he stood stock still, apparently unable to walk through. He finally turned around & walked away. Turns out he had lost 41 members of his family in the death camp. Pretty sure he would have been "offended" at this infamous symbol of evil being used as a prop. Rather doubt that anyone watching felt " Jeeeeez, that's scary".

Was it to reenact Magneto's orgin story?
That gate was used twice in the modern movies for that reason.

No. You’re an idiot. You cant recognize the difference between fact and fiction. This is celebrating a place where over 1 million people were murdered. That is not the same as a ghost or a devil. Get real.

This is a stupid straw man argument. No one says any example you made up would be appropriate.

But everyone with a brain and every lawmaker in the history of the written word recognizes a difference between death as the result of accident (your citations to the titanic and the hidenburg) and death as the result of murder (the holocaust and 9/11).

There is no reason to celebrate murder.

Ever seen the meticulous records kept by the nazis?

Celebrating the murder of even one person is wrong.

SuperSaintI’m not really understanding the outrage here. Also explain the ‘celebrating’ part? People need to calm down

It’s only news because it’s Catholic. When you Are on top and everyone knows it you are a target. Been like this thousands of years now.

If this was a Protestant church no one would give a frick. It’s as meaningless as their church services on Sunday.
