Recon dropsonde 30 minutes ago measured surface 942 mb with a 13 kt wind. May be 940 mb or lower at next advisory. 132 knot SFMR also reported.

There will be another plane heading into the storm this evening, so there shouldn't be too much of a gap in recon.

I wouldn’t know where to go.

High ground has worst winds, valley gets 40” of rain and the middle gets huge mud slides.

I’m glad I am no where near Jamaica.

Jamaicans fricking around smoking weed goofing off when they could've been improving their infrastructure. Now they will want other countries to come help then so they can get back to loafing.

This sumbitch is going to run its eye right through Mandeville on the 28th at 8;30-9:00 am. It should still be gusting about 180 mph.

The center of Mandeville is about at 18.037723, -77.507643 on Google maps for anybody interested.

ETA: Whay are all of the downvote queers pausing their cocksucking to hammer this highly informative post?

You left out killing each other and fighting for power of the island….

This might actually be what this beautiful country needed to accelerate the pace of the revolution. In 10 years, instead of 50….this place will be absolutely amazing

Wow. Our Mandeville is in St. Tammany Parish and Jamaica's Mandeville is in Manchester Parish.
Jamaica is divided into 14 parishes. I had no idea.

It is easier to be a downvote queer than learn anything.

There isn’t a single island in the entire Caribbean that gives a F about infrastructure.

The only thing some of them have going for them with regard to storms is that they have concrete block built homes rather than stick built so at least they can just put on a new metal roof and call it a day.

Sometimes I just don't understand this forum.
You spread a bit of wisdom among the less fortunate and they downvote you to hell.

It's crazy that this thing still has about 36 hours until landfall.
