That’s probably best case scenario. Worst case is people laying in wait to murder others.

I don't think you know what I know. It's also not as prevalent as the typical porn-induced mind believes.
It still leads to destructive effects, which is why many cultures and societies prioritized monogamy. It's not like they didn't try the whole "sharing" thing. It just led to disunity within the groups, among friends, family, etc.
This is a perfect example of those effects. There are eventually consequences to that lifestyle. No one can buy a person's affections forever.
