It also doesn't help that you still have those Jenny McCarthy-esque moms who bought into anything vaccination wise causes Autism.
When I worked in a high school pre-COVID we had a whooping cough outbreak because one of the girls on the field hockey team wasn't vaccinated due to an exemption. Her dumbass Mom sent her to school the day after she was diagnosed because she "didn't believe it was that serious". It's a reportable disease to the health department, so she caught some pretty serious heat for that one. Poor kid ended up breaking a rib from the cough.
