You gotta protect yourself baw. There’s no excuse for thievery, but people will do it if you give them the chance. Learn from your mistakes

Why the hell do so many of yall leave your keys in your car? you turn it off and just toss them on the center console? It makes no sense

You left your keys in the car. You had something to do with your car getting stolen

Not really. That still doesn't explain the why. That explains why you think it's safe but not why you leave them in there. I can't think of a purpose it serves

Says a whole lot about this society that having to lock your vehicle in your own driveway is accepted as normal.

Not really.

We don't lock our doors because cars are getting stolen and houses broken into every night in the neighborhood. That risk is already low.

We lock them because it's a super easy thing to do and it diminishes your risk from low to super low. It's effortless: that's why it's worth it.

People that don't lock are just lazy fricks, no ifs, ands, or buts.

You’re an idiot for leaving your keys in your car.

And trashy for not having a garage.

It's fricking retarded.

And what about their house keys? They either have their house keys on a separate chain which seems like a pain in the arse, or they are leaving their house keys in their unlocked car too

Which also means they're more than likely leaving their house unlocked

Usually, I leave mine in the glove box or under the seat. I have a wife and two kids that all drive. That's four cars in the driveway at any given time. Leaving the keys in the car saves me the task of running someone down and getting the keys.

If someone is going to steal your car, the keys aren't really going to hinder them from taking it. Never had a problem in 20 years of living here.

A lot of thieves look for unlocked card and rummage through them for things to steal. If they find keys, they steal the car as a crime of opportunity.

Man no human being on this planet is too lazy to press a lock button. Pawpaw didnt even have locks on his house until 10 years ago and he was as far from lazy as any human on the planet. People dont do it because they dont feel like it's necessary at their own home. And it shouldn't be. People leave their shite open out of defiance and refusing to accept that the world is full of shitty people who aren't scared of the law.

nd having your shite stolen because you didnt chain it down is in no way your fault. We are nowhere near hard enough on thieves in this society IMO.

Why not just have everyone leave them on a hook or in a bowl conveniently placed inside.

For a determined thief who knows what they are doing you are correct. For handle pulling kids who don't know shite about how to steal cars without a key, having the keys greatly increases their ability to do so.

This could not be further from the truth since keys have chips in them now.

Automobile thefts are way down since this technology has been in place.

People are hard headed and set in their ways. Nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is people stealing shite without fear of severe consequences.

I've got a townhouse in Montreat. Cops are of the opinion it was neighborhood kids. They blew a tire and hit a retaining wall less than a mile from my house when the cops got behind them and bailed. They got away.
