And who were the members of the committee? Just like a quack radiologist or life care planner, I too can hire someone to parrot the conclusions I want.

No, but I’ve heard nightmares about this. Maybe I should just give my cars to my parents who live out of state and let them add us as drivers.

I would strongly disagree

Ok and?? I write in both states and I can tell you that I don't see that drastic a difference. Now Texas is certainly cheaper over all, But 100% higher than La. it is not.. I've only see that drastic a change with people coming from some northern states like Iowa ,Dakotas, Minn, Etc..

Our insurance commissioner's campaign funding comes straight from insurance companies. Why are our rates in Louisiana so high? The insurance companies can only raise rates with the commissioner's "OK".

Why y'all keep electing him, I have no idea.

Where'd he get that money?

Gulfstream Property & Casualty MGA Ins..$10,000
Allied Specialty Insurance..............$20,500
Progressive Casualty Insurance..........$5,000
Amerisafe...............................$15,000
Fidelis Marine Underwriters LLC.........$5,000
Louisiana Chiropractic Association......$15,000
Regal Claim Services LLC................$5,000
Norman E. Taplin & Associates...........$12,000
Lindsey General Insurance Agency........$5,000
Adams & Reese...........................$11,000

Y'all keep believing that bullshite about uninsured drivers and frivolous law suits.

I pay $215 a month in Colorado. Newish car(2018 Jeep) with no accidents or tickets on my record. In Texas I was paying about $75 for the same insurance.

Yay for hail storms & legal weed..

People love to talk about Louisiana’s “cheap cost of living”

But is it really THAT cheap once you figure in our car insurance rates, a good $1000 a month for your kids’ private school, and flood insurance?

Just shoot an email over to GumboPAC. I’m sure they’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

+ high sales tax
+ less available higher paying jobs which means more competition among workforce which drives down salaries (which already start lower since “cost of living” is so “cheap”)

You're going the wrong way.

My insurance went from nearly $200 per month to $85 once I moved to Texas.

Our populace supports judges, legislators and governors who get rich off of your sky high premiums.

Legislate fee limits to control your premiums or just keep paying it like me.

Louisiana politicians on both sides could fix this if they had the will and guts to do so. It's called Legislation that benefits their constituents. This isn't rocket brain surgery.

But Louisiana voters keep electing the same good old boys that keep the "system" rolling along for the trial lawyers benefit. Must be a lucrative business they sure spend a fortune advertising.

Why we decide to constantly vote against our personal economic interest for outlandishly high auto insurance rates is simply astonishing.

Of course, we do that in plenty of other areas too.

But voters can't see that b/c this is all they know.

Legalized corruption is hard to beat.

Dont worry, when Gordon and Spencer are forced to tell juries that people dont wear seatbelts your insurance will magically go down.

Nice, cost of living goes up and standard of living goes down.

Sounds like a good way to retain grads and recruit tech.
