2004 4Runner w/ a Panasonic battery bought new ( made in Japan)

Not a car, but have a starting battery on our boat motor from 2016. Been keeping jumper cables on me for a while.

10yrs Twice. both were Toyota 4runner made Japan were they place Panasonic Batteries in new car/suv built in Japan. Can't purchase them here in the states.

I think 5 years is about the longest for me. My current one is at 3.5 years & still running strong.
On the other end of this is our Ford Explorer. It's 8 years old & had its 5th battery installed a few months ago at 78,000 miles. None lasted longer than 26 months. Never seen a vehicle run through batteries like this one.

scooter lead acid batteries are good for 600 charges, about 2 years in daily use
Boat batteries that are described as marine, are mech beefed up for the pounding chop. But because of infrequent use and current leakage are good for only 24 months or so, salt water service
RV house batteries do to continuous amp usage for safety systems tend to charge and discharge and loose battery fluid , h2o. get about 3 years on them till a set blows up. Sounds like a cherry bomb, makes a mess. Use the no maintenance to avoid blowing up but still change every 3 years
Standard car batteries should be changed after 3 years to avoid getting stuck
My new Chrysler has an amazingly complex battery hook up that I read can screw the computer if not replaced properly. At three years, I will take it to a trusted battery shop for replacement.
the negative battery lead disconnect on my Harley is impossible to access.
trying to get a fourth year of use out of a standard battery is probably worth 30-40 dollars. Its not worth having to call a repair service or the wife to set up a new one in the grocery parking lot
When I used to leave my car at the Dhahran airport for a month, I would always disconnect the battery due to the salt dust and battery leakage

I have a 2019 Ram with 235,000 miles. I’ve only changed the battery twice.

Last summer took out two of my four car batteries and the marine battery for my automatic gate. Folks at the auto parts store said they had a ton of warranty claims on car batteries.

What is a mystery to me is that in this time with all of our technology, we can’t get a guage or sensor that can accurately let us know when our battery is about to fail.

Remember, they call them maintenance free, but if you pull the caps off, put in distilled water once a year, they last a long time.

Yep and my last two gone out in early June just as it turns really hot and kills them. I should be good this summer but it’s been like clockwork the last two times.
