The rapid rise in the cost of a home has made it more challenging for members of the LGBTQ community to buy a home.
First-time homebuyers have to pay the higher home prices without getting a boost from the sale of an existing property.
According to the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, 50% of LGBTQ adults and 64% of LGBTQ couples own their own homes. For non-LGBTQ groups, those numbers are 70% and 75%.

Mrad's frustrations are shared by many prospective home buyers across the country over the past two years. Home prices shot up, starting in 2020, as stimulus from Congress and the Federal Reserve coincided with a work-from-home boom.
This rapid rise in the cost of a home is particularly impactful for the LGBTQ community, which is less likely to own a home. First-time homebuyers have to pay the higher prices without getting a boost from the value selling an existing property that they own.

Some real estate firms have started initiatives to help this growing group with the homebuying process, such as the KW Rainbow Network from Keller Williams.

Well that’s weird. When the closing agent caught me staring at her boobs, I thought my heterosexuality had worked against me. This market is tougher on straight white guys.

Aren’t the alphabet gang more likely to have greater disposable income due to them not having children?

Oh for frick’s sake. Who is better at real estate than gay people? They tend to be the most savvy.

Would have nothing to do with the majority of their population living in urban areas where property values are at the highest, right.

Accidental downvote. This is what I was coming here to say.

Generally speaking, I feel quite certain people with a mental illness will have lower credit scores than healthy minded people.

This sounds like a made up problem.

LGBTQXYZ+ has a lot of freaks within the community. They voluntarily make bad life choices and live on the fringes of society.
The professional gay community continues to thrive at levels equal to, and often at higher levels than their straight contemporaries.

That's not what they mean by 'points on the back.'
