They were the party of slavery, racial segregation, and the New Deal. Not really conservative. Just evil.

You live there for a few years and its apparent very quickly that the city is so broken in so many ways. SWB is a joke. Garbage pickup is erratic. The street paving situation is a disaster. The streetcars run on a schedule written on the back of toilet paper. Other than not being able to provide drinking water, pickup trash, and move people around the city it's great except for the crime.

Still is the best place for a long weekend.

The water receding this am? I have a grand daughter living in bucktown, and they were very concerned about flooding last evening.

Used to do 5 or 6 of those a year. Stopped quite a few years ago for obvious reasons. Such a shame.

Yes. By 11 or 12 last night the streets in this area were dry again.

Yeah, I just drove down there about 45 mins ago. No water other than a puddle or 2 here and there on the roads.

Peak water was around 10 PM. If they didn't get water in their house by then, it was probably fine.

I know some in the area got a little water, but I honestly don't think it was widespread. (In-home flooding, I mean - the water in the streets definitely came way up in the whole area.)

You did and kept electing Sharon Broome types. She, who you likely voted for multiple times created StG.

There was significant street flooding and sewer problems in Jefferson Parish last night, due to the overwhelming amount of rain. But I get it, that doesn't fit your narrative. Also lots of flooding in the river parishes, and we know what happened in BR in 2016, point is everyone will deal with this eventually.

Not defending SWBNO, but water is a regional issue that doesn't care about our political boundaries.

Oh no, liberal women want to ban men from having any free speech! This is a complete shock to everyone.

Words you dislike.
Sex you regret.
That uppity little girl dating your son.
Men who speak without being spoken to.
The Matriarchy is a wonderful place where everyone gets along and the trains run on time.

my takeaway: Beryl and Francine end up significantly East of projected tracks just hours ahead of land fall.
