Yeah that’s a lie. Would care to know why? It’s a lot more detailed than saying “but eh party switched” and ignoring the sequence of events.

New Orleans political leaders are refusing phone calls on the flooding. S&WB report 5 backup power generators EMDs down, high canal levels in Hollygrove, Lakeview Gentilly, maybe N.O. East. This city has disastrous leadership - the question is where did the money go to fix the drainage? They owe the public an explanation.

Not in most areas of the country.

Will of the people, sweetheart. And what is already here? Good private schools? Our taxpayer dollars coming back to our area of the city? It’s not, which is why we voted the way we did. As you said, if you don’t like it, maybe you should change it?

Or, if you love liberal policies so much, why not move back to NO? You said you were driven out by floods? Maybe stop voting for the irresponsible assholes that didn’t maintain the pumps? Seems like if you lived there now you’d be in water again?

So who’s the dumbass here?

I worked in NO right after Katrina and lived there for a few years building back the city you abandoned.

for sure you, why ask?

is it? I didn’t get to vote for it in the city of BR. Not sure why we didn’t have a say so when it affects us as well.

maybe you should change it?
did I get a chance to?

I don’t, never said I did - this is an assumption on your part

Levees broke - whose fault is that?

What about 2016? Who do I blame in Baton Rouge for that?

riiight

My husband worked in Nola for years, too, what’s your point? Trying to make yourself out as a fricking hero.

Abandoned - go ahead and make fun of the real situation. Baton Rouge sleaze

Does it blow up your misogynist ego to call me a liberal? You fricking dumb arse fool. You are so wrong and don’t even know it. Baton Rouge false elitism at work. Think you’re important and just red neck trash.

We were unincorporated. The only reason it affected you is because my tax dollars are no longer going to support your, BR city proper, services.

As you told me, move here and change it.

Then, foresight, but it gets a pass. Now, we all know who is responsible, and it’s really not up for debate.

See above. Freak occurrence vs a pretty regular season called “Hurricane season”. Again, 2005 gets a pass, but why are you giving today a pass.

We can talk politics on the PT board of you like, I’m more than willing.

We can keep this to the flooding thread and pointing out the people in charge.

It’s late and I’m off to bed in a few.

Avoidance of the facts when they don’t go your way. Typical. Good night lady.

What do you even mean? Good luck with St George, and saying stupid things about someone you don’t even know.

I think the people who live in the city of BR should’ve had a say so in the incorporation of St. George especially since it’s going to affect us so much. I know it may shock you, but I pay taxes, too, for many years St. George fire and EMS trained with BRFD. Moving to St. George now wouldn’t change anything, taxes are going to go up in both places regardless. I understand how the state constitution works.

If those canals cannot handle this then they were completely designed to fail from the beginning.

In optimum working conditions, the system is designed to handle 1" in the first hour, and a 1/2" from every hour after that. That includes 6" worth of storage in the streets and assumes all of the pumps are working. This storm exceeded those parameters.
