How many violent episodes occur when people go to liquor stores and buy beer?
What could possibly cause a pothead to be violent when going into a store that sells pot? He will have an idea of how much it will be before he goes into the store. What will the person running the store do to cause him to be irrational?

Apparently you haven't paid any attention to how much revenue Colorado is generating because of taxes on pot. Their projections were completely blown out of the water.
You got that right.
Oregon just went legal on January 1st and they are raking in cash.
quote:
The Oregon Department of Revenue on Wednesday said it collected $6.84 million in taxes from sales of recreational pot in January and February. The figure doesn't include medical marijuana sales, which remain untaxed.
quote:
Tax collections so far have blown out economists' predictions for the first year of taxed pot sales. Those estimates ranged from $2 million to $3 million after the state paid for the costs of regulation.

It's absolutely ludicrous that people fail to see the cash cow this is.
LA would do a complete 180 on the budget situation within months of legalizing pot and regulating/taxing it. Too bad some people are too stupid to accept that weed isn't some nefarious drug that will destroy society.

Go check the numbers and see how many transactions have turned into violence in Colorado, Oregon, or Washington since legalization.
I commend you on wanting to stand your ground but damn, you need to pick your battles.

Numbers -- and scale -- count. A quick lookup of Oregon's annual state revenue turns up a $33.4 Billion spending estimate for 2015. Billion.
$6.84 Million in two months of pot collections annualizes out to $41 Million. 0.12% of state spending.
Don't go spending that huge windfall all in one place, OK?

Only a true moron would willingly oppose this.

I bought a bunch of weed and edibles in Washington and spent less than $100. Definitely not cheap but not expensive enough to make me grow my own.

Added to your dossier that we plan to use against you when you run for office.

Already said I'm running Democrat because of the butt stuff. This won't hurt me.

I'm nearly 60 years old. I haven't had any weed in a number of years. I would have to try some edibles if I visited one of those states where I wouldn't be breaking the law. For some reason, the idea of telling someone I did it legally is appealing to me.
If I was a young guy that had a job where I wasn't going to get drug tested, I would go to one of those states to party with my buddies instead of going to Vegas. Get a limo/van/driver and go check a bunch of places out.

I guess it's time to start planning my move to Revelstoke. Heli skiing and blunts all day.

Colorado's revenue from marijuana sales tax for 2015 was $996 million, with the revenue increasing each month, including breaching the $100 million mark. They also collected an additional $135 million in other taxes and fees on marijuana.
How about you wait until Oregon has more than 2 months worth of data to go by.

We haven't even breached the topic of small business opportunities and additional jobs created.

Then why is alcohol legal?
It makes people violent, impaired, crazy, unpredictable and worthless to society.
If you read back through my post you will see that it's my opinion it should have never been legalized after prohibition. I'm an avid drinker as well.
