I was surprised at how easy it is once you get the algorithms/moves down. It’s not a lot of “solving” and just following a sequence of moves until it’s correct, then moving on to the next sequence.

I can get down to about a minute/minute and a half, but still have trouble with OLL and PLL.

This, I never did it though, the stickers wouldnt restick very well.

I could get two sides if I remember correctly. I have never been too smart.

Define 'solve'. I can swing a hammer, and that smug little bastard can't.

Maybe I'll try again some time.

I “solved” one once with a .45 caliber projectile moving extremely fast.

I too can solve one side and that’s all I ever completed.

Not on my bucket list.

It is amazing all the different cubes out there now. Different sizes shapes. Hell, my son has one that is bluetooth and it has an app.

No, never spent more than a couple minutes dicking with one and never had the desire to try.

Nope. I never "learned" how to do it. I think I was in 4th or 5th grade when they came out. I had a friend that learned the patterns but just like Pacman later I just went at it the hard way. Never once was I able to solve it and haven't touched one in probably 40 years.

love my Rubik's cube... actually spent a bit more on a Gan 360 as they are much smoother and easier to work with.

I also have a few novelty "cubes" in the Megaminx and a skewb ultimate

GAN360

MEGAMINX

SKEWB EXTREME

ODDLY Enough the megaminx and the skewb are easier than the Rubik's cube

Correct. It's really just memorizing steps.

However, my next goal is to learn how to solve it like the Asian kids without doing the multiple steps method.

Also, I got a 4x4 and I tried it and failed miserably.

Your family knew. They allowed you to feel special. They are taking it to their grave.

Learned the process in junior high. Could do it pretty quick without thinking much about it after that.

Haven't even seen one of those things in years. Do they even still make them?

Think it would all come back to me just holding one.

i Broke 2 minutes once. I'm just not good under pressure. I inevitably mess up a move when I know I'm being timed.
