Santa got me a bunch of puzzles for Christmas, one of them being a rubik's cube. I had never been able to solve one until now.

Once you get the moves down it's not too hard. I'm close to under 3 min now.

Have a nice day.

Actually yeah, so 2 years ago, i decided to YouTube it cause i just wanted to figure out how

There actually is a decently easy system to doing it.

Kinda ruined the excitement of it, tbh

when I was a young kid I took all the colored stickers off and rearranged them on the cube to make it look solved.

My family thought I was a genius. I'm taking it to the grave.

Yep. Got it down to around 60 seconds using the beginner method, never learned CFOP so I couldn't go much faster than that.

Yeah I learned a few years ago. Got down to under a minute. Just picked it back up a few weeks ago and had to figure it out again but it was like riding a bike thankfully.

I never could. My nephew can solve one so quickly, I'm starting to believe he's in fact an adopted Asian kid.

I can barely solve a 9th grade algebra problem correctly. I'll stay away from the rubik's cube for now

My 9 year old can do it in under a minute. He did it for the school talent show and the others kids loved it.

When I was young I would use the Alexander Gordian knot approach, and just break it apart and put it back together all lined up.

Watching The Pursuit of Happyness helped me at least figure out which side was supposed to be which.

Yes.

Once you get the algorithms down, your muscle memory kicks in after a while. It's kind of scary honestly.

This is true. Find a youtube video that you can follow and pause and rewind and you can solve it within a few days. I know some real math nerds that can solve it by actually knowing how to move individual pieces but I just learned one set of algorithms.
