How do you figure that?

And break about as often as the old crank windows.
Yeah I wasn't going to say it because it's anecdotal, but I don't think I've ever had a power window fail, but I had an '02 Dakota with manual windows that broke.

Motors and switches are really reliable, and everything else is basically the same as a manual (I think).

What advantage(s) do you think they have?

Cheaper? I don't know, maybe a little?
More reliable? Probably not anymore.
Better mpg? I doubt it.

Fun to drive might be the only real advantage, and that's subjective.

I like modern technology. I just need to see a need for the tech offered for sale before I buy it. Dont need a super duper fridge that is tied into my phone and will rate mu diet based on a scan of what food I put in fridge.

WAY more reliable. WAY better responsiveness. Better for control. WAY more enjoyable.

Hydraulically assisted steering is light years better than modern, electric, ones that come with lane assist.

Naturally aspirated engines...

You’ll have to buy something pre 1980 to have no solid state electronics

I’ve got a 2003 F250 with 7.3L diesel. It has everything I need: power door locks, power windows, power seats, A/C, reverse sensors and an aftermarket backup camera (works great).

While the 7.3L is a sluggish dinosaur, I paid a fraction of the price of a new F-250 and it has everything I need.

Unless you’re inspector gadget with go go gadget arms, electric windows are useful

If it makes you feel any better my F150 got hit directly by lightning a few years ago. $7500 and it took them 2 weeks to fix because they had to do one system at a time. They ended up replacing them all. Luckily, comprehensive insurance covered it. And I still have 2 little chunks of concrete missing where the tires were (two were on grass).

The first vehicle I ever owned with electric anything was 2009 which was my 5th vehicle. I used to buy base model, manual transmission vehicles.

Yes, it's called a base model.

WAY more reliable.
For a skilled driver, maybe. For the vast majority of drivers, I think an automatic will be more reliable.

WAY better responsiveness.
Is this an objective advantage? How do you measure? Do you account for engine programming?

Better for control.
Again, objective advantage? What, exactly, are you controlling besides the actual shifting of gears, and why is driver control of that an advantage? Depends on driver skill.

Completely subjective.

2020 Chrysler Voyager. Not the pacifica. Voyager.

You have to manually turn on the headlights. Very basic climate system and radio etc. side doors manual only. It rocks!

Yeah I don't see the point of the screens and superfluous shite, but one bit of tech that I do want to see in appliances is more self-monitoring (temps, noise, vibration, efficiency, etc). It would be great to have a "like-new" baseline, and then be notified when something is out of spec. Even if it still works, I'd like to get some sort of early warning rather than wait until total failure.
