I think the new ones use much less water. The only advantage.

They don't work as well though. I'll be honest, most modern appliances are shite. I don't need a digital display on my fridge. Same with vehicles. I'm fine with the basics. My XLT F150 has more features than I really need.

What? What kind of car? I’ve changed batteries in Mercedes, Acura, Honda, Toyota, and never brought in to reset a computer.

Think of all the jobs for engineers and repairmen that all these fancy products have created

Is the Mercedes a newer model?

Just recently, friends with a BMW and a Mini-Cooper.

I'd sincerely trade every appliance I own for 1985 models in working order.

No. Fuel injection was pretty much standard in the late 80s and that requires some form of computer.

I am usually on board with KISS, but electric windows have numerous benefits. Safety for one thing, you can keep your hands on the wheel while rolling them up/down (and one-handed people can use them). As the driver you can roll down all windows. Auto-cracking windows in the summer heat before you get in is pretty awesome. And good luck locking a crank window with kids in the back seat.

Yes. Google "Barrett-Jackson Auction."

The OP has probably never owned a car without a computer to realize how horribly unreliable they are.

And break about as often as the old crank windows.

GWagens are the only model I can think of with numerous window regulator problems.

Jeeps used to have problems with the window regulators breaking. Also everything else.

I have replaced a lot of BMW batteries over the years and none have every had to go back to the dealership for a reset.

Maybe fleet vehicle or completely stripped commuter model

Finding a standard transmission is going to be hard as well. Probably will be more expensive too. There are really no advantages to owning a manual any longer.

I guess you could say they get stolen less often, but how often does your car get stolen to begin with?
