I left right after the game and was home @ 10:30

Went down Nicholson to Government and I-10 EB was smooth sailing

Do you know why the interstate was closed at Acadian?

Don't know, but the only reason I can think of would be due to a crash on the Interstate that would have backed up all the traffic heading onto the on east on ramp.

If they wouldn't have diverted you north, all of Acadian would have locked up. Think about it.

Sat in traffic three hours. That's not a sign of a good system

I think one lane closed on the interstate would be better than closing the on ramp and diverting the traffic down to government street with no cops working the lights north of the interstate....

Saw a guy make it to downtown in traffic behind me at a snail's pace 1.5 hours from the vet school. This was at 12 am. At 12:05, I heard a loud crash and he was an inch from my rear bumper after he got rearended. I just thought damn, can't be much worse of an end to the day.

I dunno, my neighbor rode his bike to/from game and was home in less than an hour to his place on Bluebonnet/Airline.
Maybe gamedays would suck less if more people rode bikes?

You think after decades of games they would have a system.

Leaving tiger stadium is the worst. I just factor in that it will take three hours to get home from a LSU game.

My system has always been River Road to Gadere or take river road to the first plant and take a left until you hit 30.

Have to avoid Burbank and Highland like the plague and Nicholson is really hard to get out from..

Living there sucks. You'll do laps and circles for like an hour to get to the cottages.

Not to split hairs here, by why were some people describing nightmare scenarios and others were at home in 20 mins?

I guess those people live in South Central BR which is easy to get to after a game. I used to live on Nicholson and could make it home in 20 minutes walking.

People going to NOLA or Laffayette had a hrd time getting to I-10

It all depends on where you park and what time you leave the game. I left after the final play, managed to walk all the way to the coliseum and leave immediately down acadian with no traffic. I'm guessing 10 min later is when the nightmare started

If we could have gotten one more first down at the end of the game, I would have left earlier. Instead, we gave them the ball back and the opportunity for a Hail Mary at the end. This created the major cluster frick we all saw last night.

That, and BRPD.

Parking in one of those big lots kills your escape time.

So much better than 20 years ago when BRPD made you escape on your own. That was a clusterfrick.

This.

I was home to catch the end of Pac-12 action and I live a ways away from Tiger Stadium.
