Do you automatically assume that it’s not? The alternative is much worse, to assume that this was all just ineptness. If that were the case, and considering America’s vast enemies made, it would be like shooting fish in a barrel going forward.

I almost can't decide what would be worse:
1. That there was an actual plot to try it deliberately.
OR
2. That there wasn't- but the Secret Service provided a plan that was so amazingly bad it just looked deliberate.
Clearly option one would be the worst of the two- but option two is hardly reassuring, especially when you consider these are some of the same people (the current federal govt) telling you that 'you don't need a rifle to protect yourself- that's our job!'

Chicken tried a few months ago to emphasize keeping it all on the poli board, but yea between the way everything these days is shrouded in politics and the fact the echo chamber board regulars need extra room to melt about everything, it ends up here.
I do miss the old OT a lot. Place was hilarious. Everyone is so damn crotchety these days. Social media and toxic mainstream news plays its part. Doesn’t help that we’re all getting old.

this is objectively untrue. look at the state of the country today vs the state of the country pre-Biden. imagine four more years of that, but even worse. so unless by "just fine" you mean skyrocketing cost of living against meagre increases in pay and worse life for your children, then i guess you're right.

so if conservatives believe it was a conspiracy, THAT'S not ok with you, but i'm guessing likewise, if conservatives blame DEI hiring and other such similar policies for such complete and utter incompetence that let a 20 year nobody get a semi-automatic rifle a hundred yards away from a major political candidate and get multiple shots off, THAT probably wont be ok with you either.
