have YOU been to the PB? because there is actually a TON of conservative on conservative discussion and arguing there. much more than a "lockstep collective opinion". it's actually pretty fairly divided between "MAGA" and "non-MAGA" conservatives.

This. 1000%.
Here’s the thing, everything actually is political. Politics is simply the act of determining governance. A conversation in your household between you, your wife and kids about who does laundry, when and who’s responsible for what is a political discussion. As Michael Knowles put it, the nuclear family is the basic political unit of a society.
What happens on the PT board isn’t political discussion. It’s tribalistic group think. Which is fine if there are people who want to engage in that, but the problem is that a lot of posters try to package it up as political discourse to try to justify its proliferation to other boards. I think that’s what is happening here.
