I see I’m not the only one who has to sit though a Monday morning manager’s meeting.

Many of the corporate lingo words are nonsense that are said by counts who want to sound smart.
What sucks is when they ruin a word that isn't all that bad. I have used actionable for a decade because the number of stupid ideas people give. It's a nice way of saying "you might be right but you can't do shite to change that so quit wasting everyone's time".

Can't you just reply to them "don't talk like a retard"

I dropped “Kerfluffle” in a C Suite meeting and the CEO’s Chief of Staff (his fricking secretary - who doesn’t like me) interrupted the conversation to state that she didn’t appreciate me making light of the situation with “made up words.”
I just stopped and stared at her while five or six people began Googling it on their laptops. Someone read the definition out loud and it fit the discussion perfectly.
Somehow, and this still baffles me, I got counseled on making the Chief of Staff look bad. fricking corporate losers.
So she made a kerfuffle over your use of the word while being too dumb to know what she was doing.

Corporate world is not real.
When you are deep in it, the place morphs you into it in such a way that it makes sense.
After many years, that bs fades. Only when you leave it, do you begin to truly understand it’s non sense.
The language (action this or that). A world unto itself.
The put on’s by corp leaders where real world people have emotions, thinking and behaviors. They are Not machines.
The 10% yoy projections where real world goes up & down
Not real. Hang in there. You are normal!

Y'all make fun of action items, but we've all been in meetings where the person running it does a piss-poor job of assigning, follow-up, dates, etc. Then a month later you're back in the same meeting and nothing has been done and everybody's pointing fingers at each other.

Sticker on Costco plastic food tray: "This item not ovenable".
