China will be the world's dominant power in 30-50 years. They'll also probably defeat us in a naval conflict over control of the South China Sea in 15-20 years. The U.S. will remain the dominant power in the western hemisphere but globally we'll be number two.

We already have been. The house of cards just hasn't faced a stiff enough breeze yet.

What makes you so sure? China isn't doing so well these days.

Plenty will make it out to happen wayyyyy sooner than it will. It could be 100s of years from now, but it certainly won't be in our lifetimes or anything close to that.

Suburbia will die when the gasoline isn't there to move everything around. Read some James Kunstler Clusterfrick Nation blogs.

Nah. They'd much rather align with the US (see TPP.)

I might be wrong, but you might be giving these idiots too much credit. Most of these people are doing what they do with lack of knowledge. In my mind, I just see them as the 21 century hippie.
As for as political correctness, there are times in which its needed. I am talking about extreme situations. No one should get up and give a political speech and call different ethnic groups certain names, but all this other crap.
Everyone is all for "free speech" until someone says something that offends them or they don't agree with. It changes the way we communicate and takes away the authenticity of people's point of view. Take politicians for example, they have two jobs. 1. Get elected. 2. Stay elected. Once you know what group of people they have to appeal to then there is nothing they will say that will be unpredictable, but what they say and what they do doesn't always reflect each other, but if they would tell everyone exactly what they plan on doing then they will never get elected.
Our society expects everyone to be politicians. They want everyone to say what THEY want to hear. It doesn't matter what that person actually does, as long as they "say the right things". This is more of a generational change, but I expect the next generation to be a hybrid of Gen X & Millennials so I think we will eventually become not so sensitive.

, it's not very likely at present (despite all the chicken little MAGA bullshite from the pussies round here.) This point in time - right her right now - is the most dominant the US has ever been vs the world.
Despite all the stupid moves it has made in the last decade and will continue for at least the next half decade no matter who is elected.
The United States is relatively young and with it's power it can afford to stumble and be a little wreckless but it needs to stand up more for what it believes in.
I believe in a dominant foreign policy. The United States is the most dominant and needs to make sure everyone knows it. It also is the most compassionate and it shows that very well. It can do both successfully.

White flight of America will be the end of our superpower status.

It will happen, but not anytime soon. Might be in for some rough times as we sort through the process of one day realizing you can't function properly with so many on government aid and so little cut in gov. spending, etc.
With that said, we have natural resources such as natural gas, oil, clean water, and fertile land that I doubt anyone can rival. That and some big oceans separating us from out biggest rivals, so I don't see us falling in my life time.

England has existed for a long time, but has seen a few major upheavals. Pre Cromwell England is drastically different than post Cromwell England. Same with China.
Germany and Italy while old to us, are both late 19th century nations. Modern Japan came late 19th century.
The United States having the same government from 1789 has to be one of the older continuous governments.

No it won't. China has too many impoverished internal regions that are already jealous and dismayed at the coastal regions where all the money is being made and the wealth created. The central government will gradually lose power and the regions will become more autonomous.
Or the central government can close out all foreign interests and run it like a closed society - but the coastal regions like Western money and will fight that tooth and nail.
I see a time when Japan will be sticking their nose in Chinese business based on these coastal regions and their resources that Japan needs.
And the United States will push this as well as never allow another Navy to come close to its. The US dominates the worlds waterways and whomever does that runs the world. This will not change in my childrens lifetime.

China's global influence grows everyday. Look at the Phillipines. A couple of years ago they were begging us to intervene in the South China Sea and know their new president is all over China's balls.
Lol, one of our billion dollar carriers can't bomb ISIS right now because it's too busy trying to get an infant and its useless mother off the ship. The canabalize all their jets just to have enough planes to deploy on a regular rotation. Most of our subs will soon be in dry dock yet to g refitted everything areas designed for women. Meanwhile China's naval and missile capabilities grow everyday. They dont have to beat us all over the world. Just in one congested piece of ocean that is within missile range of their home shores.
