I travel a lot for work, I like to send my daughter postcards home from all the places I visit and she keeps them in a scrapbook. So I use them all the time.

Lots of companies mail checks out. A lot of business is still conducted using certified US mail as well I would think. Obviously neither apply to you.

and most of those companies don't sit there and lick a stamp and put it on an envelope, except maybe government workers. There are machines that stamp shite on there instead of putting a stamp on it.
Also, any business not run by 70 year olds are aware of what year it is and how to electronically mail something.

Seriously, other than being old fashioned and mailing postcards, or birthday cards, why on earth would anyone need to physically stuff an envelope with something and put a stamp on it?
are you sending rebates in for some purchase you made to get your $5 back?
are you literally writing checks out to pay bills?
Are you handwriting letters to someone? perhaps a penpal in prison?

Didnt' realize so many OT'ers work for the USPS or are over the age of 70.

I realize you're apparently shocked by this, but 18.5 billion pieces of mail went out in 2017 with an actual postage stamp on it. The number is declining quite a bit, but it's still a crazy volume.

Are you too poor to buy a stamp?

It used to be a fairly common way to launder money.

I have to pay certain bills by mail with a check for my business, only like three a month but it sucks. Much easier to pay online.

tht's 50M stamps a day. i find it hard to believe 1 out of 6 people in the US put a stamp on an envelope every day of the year. I just don't believe that.

I get a lot of shite in the mail everyday. outside of the few bills, it's all worthless crap, and not a single thing i get in the mail has an actual stamp on it. They all have a printout that says "first class mail presorted paid" of some sort. If they are counting that as a stamp, then i'll believe that 18B number.

My company spends thousands each month in postal charges. Yeah the use a postage meter, but would stand to save good money if they could use fraudulent postage.
