They only gave him 3 thighs with his 16-piece box of chicken and they shorted him a biscuit.

Because Republicans think that a state with a registered voter split of 1/3 Republican, 1/3 Democrat, and 1/3 No Party voters should be split up 5-1 in favor of Republicans.

Using registered voter split in Louisiana is pretty stupid. Most of the registered Dims in Louisiana are old people who registered Dim 50 years ago when Louisiana was a one party state and never changed their registration.

Make no mistake about it. Liberals don't give one frick about democracy, fairness, or equitable representation; they are just pissed because for maybe the first time in history, the GOP is beating them at their own game.

That map is almost as bad as the intentionally terrible one that had a 2nd black district cutting diagonally across the state.

Not even close but nice try

BTW, did you ever complain about other states shutting out Republicans?

No, that map is bad. This statement applies to both as both maps included areas of the state that should not be represented by the same people. Ebr, wbr, and pointe couple should not be in the same district as North LA and any parish should not be split.

Take the top of the foot, straight line across through cenla, vernon, rapides, and avoyelles up (keeping parishes together). Vertical line between that alec and natty-toe-cheese, maybe swerve back around Winn all the way between Claiborne and Union

That's 2 districts

Acadia and Evangeline West is 3, maybe include Lafayette because of population number

St martin, St landy iberia, East to ebr, West feliciana and ascension is 4

Florida parishes East feliciana to the East border is 5

The saints in the South all the way East and all down to plaqumines is 6

Nice boxes, population may mostly be even, but I'm not checking that

Any other way that splits a parish, and is specifically designed for one particular race or party (either party) is gerrymandering

Boring squares or near enough squares is what it should be

I’ve always thought the most equitable solution would be to overlay a graph of squares over the state and let the district lines fall where they fall. In Louisiana you would still have a majority black district for New Orleans and possibly one for BR but whatever it winds up being would be free of any racial gerrymander. Both parties are equally guilty of drawing districts to favor themselves

To answer the OP, Gravy is mad because Democrats believe that when something doesn't go their way, it grants them permission to throw aside any sense of decorum and act like toddlers in a temper-tantrum. It's not just here; it happend in Tennesee as well.

Well, population is important as it is a requirement is to have the population evenly distributed between all districts due to the "one person, one vote" rule. That's why you can't go just making up boxes as you did. It is also why some population centers can get chopped up between districts
