get that, and again I don’t want to be a grinch so I’ll stop. But to do what you are doing the only difficult part was buying something good for $1. Once you had $10, you are just buying a bunch of $5-20 items and hustling. It’s a solid game.
Actually the hardest part of this challenge is keep MrsAntiqueTiger from taking my money.
I do have a checking acct that I only use for eBay/venmo/ATM.
I call it my play money

Do you have a google sheet tracking everything?

No, I’m just doing the math in the OP as I spend or sell. Actually I’m calculating my profit at 85% of the sale price, but it’s actually 87%.

Keep doing things just like you are. I’m loving it.

You start with a pen and trade it for a ball, you take the ball and trade for a glove, you trade the glove for a bat, you trade the bat for something else

Everything I have for sale is a bad purchase until it sells.
I was hoping this would have gotten some laughs, but it’s true. I just have never thought of it like that until now.

It’s a solid game.
You're also assuming that he will sell the things he buys for a profit, which is far from a given.

They sold for $97. I paid $7 for them.

It’s not that hard.
This is not double entry accounting.
Let it go.

I’m simply stating the normal idea behind ‘can I turn this into that’ is a trade. You start with a pen and trade it for a ball, you take the ball and trade for a glove, you trade the glove for a bat, you trade the bat for something else.
These are trades, someone is trading money for the items. In a lot of ways this is more real than something like the big paperclip into a house because nobody is giving him excess value to "help" him. They are just randos buying stuff on eBay trying to get a deal themselves.
In the end, there is no governing body that controls the dollars to trips Olympics. AT made the rules, they make sense and AFAIK he is following them. Everything he has and has sold started from the first dollar, it was always going to snowball if he did it right.

I’m with you Baldona, I thought it was going to end up with something like..
“ I traded the hot air balloon I got for $4500 for a 1965 Mustang that I sold for $8700. Mission complete.”

I am to the point now, I am only shopping with money from this thread. The first few weeks, I was buying other items, but I did not have the money in my Japan trip to pay for it.
I maybe buying a Saints Blue Dog in the next couple days for $700. Before today, I didn’t have the funds to buy it for this challenge, but now I do.
