Retired? That explains so much. No wonder you can do no wrong.

If there’s a choice between cutting social security benefits or borrowing from future generations the politicians can’t just do whatever they want and still get elected. No one can ignore the senior vote unless there is a counterbalancing political bloc for them to turn to.

Dallas morning news just did a survey and it said a middle class family of 5 needed to make $265k per year to feel that they weren’t living month to month
I’d love to see their meaning of “month to month”

It's a great time to be a blue-collar worker. Electricians, plumbers, mechanics make bank.

I am guilty of bashing some of the youth coming up and don’t fully understand how to motivate them and in general they seem soft (here I go again) but there are absolutely good workers to be found. For the country to survive we can’t disenfranchise a whole generation. As posted, there is a mountain of statistics that say this something different.

All of my kids graduated from LSU debt free. I wouldnt allow them to be sucked in

You will seldom be the smartest person in the room. Be the hardest worker, and you will come out ahead 90% of the time.
Likability and tact will carry you far in life.

Once again! No solutions given.
Yall would rather die than say cut spending. Anything but that because if you did, the fault may be on you that you’re living paycheck to paycheck.
Human behavior is really predictable.

That’s not the norm. Neither kid has graduated or found a job so what are you really saying other than they have little e debt. It’s a stupid argument.

Discussing a problem does not equate to bitching. Cutting spending is necessary because of the situation but the cause is not that this generation spends money on Spotify (instead of CDs or tapes or records). Cutting spending certainly helps the individual situation but that is not the solution to this large economic issue. The problem was not created because the youth of America are frivolous. I’m not saying I have the solution so I guess I should just stfu right?

I appreciate this sentiment but the concerns are real. The goods economy is basically in a death spiral and home building is rough. Our money is broken and families are in general decline. If you don’t own significant assets you’re getting further behind every day.
I feel your pain. You could have found the same thing word for word in news articles from the 1970's. Our 8th grade social studies teacher was also a small business owner - there's that side hustle - and was obsessed with making us read news articles in search of slant, connotation changes, and bias, so I read a lot of them for an 8th grader. Racked up those sweet extra credit points. Yeah, I know,

Without a solution it is. I’m talking about what someone can do to make their situation better and not just throw up their hands in surrender.

Actually, it’s always been hard. I started working for $2.65/hr working the conveyor at Genuine Auto Parts.
But the cost of housing, cars, groceries, insurance, utilities is insurmountable now. I really don’t see how the younger generations will get by. Government sure doesn’t seem to give a frick.
Coworker’s son needs a hearing aid….$6,000. I have been retired now over 7 months. Getting up at 3:30am, at work by 4:35am to unlock and unalarm the facility. Work a 12 hour shift. 42 years. One hour drive each way.
You’re GD right life is hard.

You are completely fricking retarded. You know who represents the young? Their parents.
The effort to lower voting ages only entrenches marxism, because none of those 16 year olds have paid income or property taxes. Is a 16 year old going to vote for a 2 billion dollar bond for a football stadium that looks like UGA's stadium that they never have to pay for? Of course they will. The UK recently lowered the voting age to 16, which will cement labour (democratic socialists) as the permanent party for an entire country.

At 54 so yeah I think I might have some good advice to give. But it’s not what they want to hear so they get mad. Human nature.
Haha. There’s the downvote in seconds of me posting. See?

We should stop paying for medical care for 20M+ illegal immigrants that they never pay for, and we won't need to be overcharged for common procedures. But, TPS is still in effect for tens of thousands of Hondurans for a hurricane that occurred in 1998.
Airpods 2/3 are considerably less than $6k for near hearing aids, but yeah, it's all insurmountable You want to know how many vets can't hear shite because of tinnitus, and spend years trying to get help? Nah. frick them vets.
Life is hard because of your choices. The other "woe is me" thread today talking about trying to afford a $1,500 apartment on $10 an hour. In N Out pays $16 to train, but retards on this board think you're owed an apartment with no room mates. Tell me, GrannyClutch, did you have roomies in your pre-married life?
