Think about this post again, OP.

You really think you should be able to force a doctor (who doesn’t like you) to treat you?

If you want to continue using that doctors services, you should probably try writing a letter back apologizing for offending her.

Find another doctor .

No one is guaranteed the services of a doctor unless you sign some of contract with them.

Go to your former Dr's office, ask for your file, and find a new optometrist. With the file, your new provider will have info that might possibly affect your prescription or treatmemt. Or, it could reinforce that you've been (say) nearsighted for 'x' years and nothing has changed. Either way, it is useful info for your new Dr.

Rights protect you from Government intrusions or discrimination from others.

I am embarrassed for you for asking us all this question.

Where did you fall on the bakers being forced to bake a wedding cake? Most people on this board said a business owner has the right to refuse business to whomever he or she wants.

So.......that is kinda what is happening. A business owner is just deciding to not serve you.

Go someplace else.

She's a cuunt. Don't go back. Find one with big tiddies and a better demeanor with the customer.

The next day, I received the following faxed statement from the optometrist:

I don't think I've ever had a medical provider ask me for my fax number on any patient info forms. Employer name, address, and phone number....sure. But never been asked for my fax number

Optometrists are not physicians BTW since they didn't go to med school.

Optometrist isn't a Dr.

What do you think that D stands for in the suffix of the provider's name?

There are plenty of optometrists out there, find one you like who runs a more efficient office. If it makes you feel better, leave a review of her office.

Some doctors think they are god-like. They aren't. It can be harder to find a good, reasonably priced plumber or car mechanic.

Seriously, you have the right to find another provider, she has the right to not treat you if wanted.

They can fire you for any reason, except race, gender etc. it is becoming more common. No one has to put up with patients/clients that are hard to deal with. Life is too short.
