So, you're saying the cops should have let the guy shoot them/at them until he was aware of his surroundings?

Sleeping... in a car the goddamn drive thru... carrying a weapon... reported stolen in another state.

Do they even believe the shite coming out of their own mouths?

I didn't say that, at all. It's a snap judgement and the cops felt threatened...end of story. That said, it seems often these cops aren't really properly assessing threat levels. The dude was fricking passed out IN a Taco Bell drive-thru and, fair to assume, extremely inebriated.

A cop with blinders on shoots him at first movement.

A cop who is trained to properly assess a situation and understands the dude is passed out drunk, doesn't.

Local SF CBS News
quote:

Vallejo police said an employee called 911 to report a man slumped over the driver’s seat of a Silver Mercedes was parked in the drive thru.

Officers responded to the call in order to check on the welfare of the driver. As the officers approached the Mercedes, they could see that the adult male driver was unresponsive, and that he had a handgun on his lap.

The officers found that the vehicle was locked and that the Mercedes’ transmission was in drive.

Police said the officers made efforts to stop any forward progress by the Mercedes as they assessed the situation and asked for additional resources. But the driver of the vehicle suddenly began to move.

Guess they should have just let him wake himself up when he ran over a pedestrian or caused damage to someone else’s property

A death sentence for falling asleep at Taco Bell. Gotcha.

You said probably inebriated. Bunch of people out there believe those people do deserve a death sentence.

And if you get caught enough, your life will be over and you don't have to hurt anyone.

Please, enlighten me on your training/near death experiences which gives credible insight to what you're saying.

So was he sleeping or reaching for a gun?
Probably sleeping and probably the cops made that shite up. Cops have to justify their blood lust by saying that the perp was reaching for something, possibly a gun.

We've seen cops plant drugs on people, and even shoot someone for getting out their id. Lets not pretend like cops are 100% trustable. This is why all cops need to wear body cameras all the time. First time the camera is cut off, you get suspended, and the 2nd time you are fired. This does nothing but help out both sides.

So what does the camera footage actually show? I'm sure taco bell has some cameras with the footage on it. Also do the cops have cameras in their cars and if so what do they show?

No, the death sentence was for having a loaded, stolen gun on your lap while falling asleep in a Drive Thru (not even a parking lot) and grabbing the gun.

Except I've never been, nor ever will be, passed out drunk with a gun in my lap at Taco Bell.
