California becomes first state to require gender-neutral toy aisles

The new law, signed by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, does not outlaw traditional boys and girls sections at department stores. Instead, it says large stores must also have a gender-neutral section to display “a reasonable selection" of items "regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys.”
Assemblyman Evan Low, a Democrat from San Jose who wrote the bill, said he was “incredibly grateful” Newsom signed the bill this year – the third time Democrats in the state Legislature have tried to pass this law. Similar bills failed in 2019 and 2020.
“We need to stop stigmatizing what's acceptable for certain genders and just let kids be kids,” Low said. “My hope is this bill encourages more businesses across California and the U.S. to avoid reinforcing harmful and outdated stereotypes.”

I'm just going to say, I have 3 kids ... the boys played with the daughters kitchen set with her ... she played "army" and built lego everything with them.
This is insanity.

California is leading the way in stupidity.

Too bad there aren’t going to be toys at all on those aisles thanks to Gavin and Garcetti fricking up the ports.

So, the CA government has the power to tell a store how they have to structure their shelf space?
Really?
Really?

I would love to sit in on his meetings with staff and just listen to the ideas and conversation that is brought up that doesn’t get publicly talked about.
I bet it is pretty dang interesting.

My biggest issue is...how much this complicates being a child. When you throw gender and sexuality into the mind of a developing boy or girl, you are pulling the pin on a live grenade. "Adults" struggle with this gender dysphoria bullshite with "fully developed" lobes. Kids...don't...have...that...yet. It's criminal to foist this on our children. We are creating an entire generation of psychopaths.
California is where the revolution should begin. Burn it to the ground (except Kern County), and give it back to the Mexicans. Imagine how efficient California would be as a Mexican run state.

Are there even sections marked "boy toys" and "girl toys"? No labels = no problem.

Walmart and Target already have the Lego/boardgame aisles. Not to mention the aisle for very young kids, which is usually Disney or Nickelodeon toys.

Why can’t girls who want GI Joes go get them from the boy’s aisle and boys who want barbies go get them from the girl’s aisle?
Does there really need to be a separate aisle for this?

Babylon Bee posted an article about a year ago with a story line about like this.
That's where we are as a country and society, one year behind obvious and hyperbolic satire.

I can’t believe this wasn’t already included in the original bill of rights.
