School officials in Lancaster, California were scrambling to respond Tuesday after middle school students reportedly dialed a suicide prevention hotline and heard a sexually explicit message.
New Vista Middle School students allegedly stumbled across a sex hotline instead of the resource number they were originally looking for.
"Some recording for, you know, like, 'hey hot stuff,' something, something like that," Lavelle said.

Superintendent Michele Bowers issued a letter Monday apologizing for the mistaken ID cards issued to students at New Vista Middle School, according to KABC 7.
"The phone numbers have two digits transposed and this is a mistake," Bowers wrote. "The number listed on the card is actually a sex line."

Well, I guess getting a boner would be a bit of a deterrent?

Should leave it as is. Nothing cures depression faster than dirty talk.

Laughter or sex are suicide prevention. What's the problem here?

Not the worst idea I've heard of.

Biggest surprise to me is that phone sex companies still exist.

Nothing like a lil sex talk to help someone having trouble...

I think this is a great idea. I never want to off myself right after I rub one out.

So you call and chicks from the 80's tell you to jerk off?

But did he die?
ETA: Looks like it's working fine to me.

Sex lines are still a thing?
You'd think with porn and webcam girls these days, the sex line industry would be out of business.

At the end of our Sophomore year in High School blank I. D. Cards were brought to our typing class to have each students info typed onto them for the next year. We quickly seized the moment and updated all of our friends birthdays to eighteen years old. The next spring each student had a school issued ID with a fake date. They passed everywhere. Amazing thing is we did it for two years and the scam never surfaced.

The biggest shock was probably when one of their teachers answered.

At one point, the State of Louisiana did that instead of an employee help line on a publication.
I don’t believe there were many complaints.
