IMO the CTS-V is one of the last driver focused sports sedans you can buy.

In 10 years the CT5-V Blackwing will be a collector item because V8 sports sedans with manual transmissions will be a thing of the past. There are only a few like that right now, and their numbers dwindle every year.

I’d imagine so. My wife had the V6 ATS when I met her and that thing could haul arse with tons of grip.

BMW is going PHEV next year for the M5. frick that. The party is over for the M5 IMO.

The Cadillac V Blackwing is awesome and unless Mary Barra is an idiot (she sort of is)….the V series will be the final holdout for a few more years, for no other reason than Cadillac not having an EV replacement ready yet.

Honestly things like the Mustang V8, Camaro, Hellcat, etc - their days are also numbered. I hate that but it’s so difficult to build them with modern regulatory pressure to cut back on emissions.

Ford has really tarnished the Mustang brand with everything they've done post-2005 (i.e. ever since they threw out the Fox body platform completely).

It's not just the electric SUV they made. It's the overall philosophy. The Mustang was always supposed to be a cheap, lightweight piece of crap for junior enlisted, recent college grads, and the like. It's turned into a 3,600-pound aggressively retro behemoth for the AARP crowd... with an independent rear suspension for their fat asses.

Yeah, it's a much better car than my '85 and '01 Mustangs were. It weighs what my '76 Cutlass did, though. I hate everything about those cars now.

Except for the Uber driver in Dothan we had a year or two ago from the hotel to their big honky tonk joint. He was an older dude, former fireman in Auburn (ironically) and was on hand for when the barn burned during the LSU game back in 96.

His CTS had baddass exhaust, a 6speed stick and a aftermarket supercharger. He lit em up for us. I'm guessing 500+ HP. Not a cougar.

There was a whole bunch of way cool sedans for a while.

E39 M5. E55/S55. E63/S63. RS6 (wagon too!). XJR. CTS-V.

The brute power that most of the above have is just mind-bending. I've driven a few of them and it's incredible how you can build speed at 130 in one of the above like a normal car does at 30.

I had a cousin who had one. It got demolished when a guy ran a stoplight 3 years ago or so, and she couldn't find another one to replace it.
