A real Hilux as it currently exists (IE not re-worked to be fully compliant with current north american regulations) would be relatively cheap and very awesome and would upend the vehicle market.

So, you can rest assured that it will not happen.

The federal government and California are the reason that vehicles cost as much as they do.

I own a 2024 crew cab mid range Hilux diesel.

Paid a little over $60,000 for it.

Nice truck, not real fancy.

Made in Thailand.

I thought we were talking about the Hilux, not a Hilux Champ, a totally different truck.

I really like the RV version of the Hilux.. esp considering it sells in Asia for about $40k usd.. would not be able to keep them in dealer stock in the US if they were available for sale .

Toyota Land Cruiser 70 double cab

There probably isn't a more iconic generation of the Toyota Land Cruiser than the 70 Series, or the J70. This version of the Land Cruiser was introduced in 1984, and it followed in the footsteps of the classic J40 model. The J70 was available in several different body styles. This included two pickup truck versions, a 2-door single cab and a 4-door double cab. Incredibly, the Land Cruiser 70 has never gone out of production since then. You can still buy this truck brand new, 4 facelifts down the line, and with more modern running gear, in 2025.

These new Land Cruisers are only available with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine, producing 151 kW (around 202 hp) and up to 500 NM (around 368.8 lb-ft) of torque (according to Australian specs). While that won't win you any races, it's got enough torque to give you some serious pulling power if you're towing something or great rock-climbing prowess off-road.

I was wondering why when I google image search "Toyota Hilux" and there was nothing like what the OP showed.
