They usually buy YOU a gift. Your gift to them is 2.5-3% of the purchase price

As others have said, my agent gave us a gift.

And he sends us birthday cards and christmas cards every year with gift certificates to local cupcake or donut places.

He's the man. He's absolutely getting our business when we move.

My response was we are giving her something it's called cash money once she gets her cut of the commissions from the seller's agent

Bingo. I mean did she do anything special or completely go out of her way for you? If she just did her job then no, you do not get anything.

Depends on two questions.

Is your wife ugly?
&
Is the realtor hot?

If yes to both of those, then yes you should.

Wtf? This isn’t a thing. Your realtor gives YOU something for paying them thousands of dollars

Is there anyway you could post a pic of your wife or your real estate agent?

yep, that money comes from the seller, but unless you ink it up it ain't happening, if there's any gift giving going on it is usually, and as it should be, comes from the agent, business expense for them anyway

We were given vases when we bought and wine when we sold. Didn't give the realtor anything.

You are paying your real estate agent commission.... that's your gift.

Now if you owned several rental properties and had a running line of business.... maybe but even then I'd only worry about the person drawing up your documents.

I love all the clueless answers in every realtor thread. They don’t keep all the commissions. Their broker takes a huge chunk of it.
