That wasn't the question you asked.

Corolla. I bought my daughter a new one when she was a senior in HS. It lasted thru undergrad and grad school and into her first job. But girls are easier on a vehicle than boys.

I started driving in 02 and was gifted a 1988 Buick Century that my parents bought brand new in 88 then my sister drove until it was my turn, it’s a rite of passage

Three years ago I purchased a 2001 buick century from my kid's great grandma for $1200.00. My daughter(no pics) is still driving it for college. I might want to mention the car had 75000 original miles on it and it was garage kept because their great grandma was 92 years old

Wonder if great grandma ever threw her leg around in the back seat of that sled?

Don’t be one of those parents who does this for the kid and then expects him to pay for insurance and all that for it

Let them enjoy the gift . They’ll have their entire lives once they grow up to pay for that shite

Old Tacoma.

My son turns 16 in august and he’s looking at those on autotrader. He sends me some for sale and they have anywhere from 110k-200k miles on it. Would one last a while if it already has a 100 and something thousand miles on it? At least until he graduates?

Was a decent car

My son is buying his first vehicle ahead of turning 16.

94 Toyota truck 4x4, manual drive, 87000 miles. Been in a garage mostly putting about 400 miles on it the last 8-10 years. 1425.00. Saw it sitting in a friends garage and asked if he was selling it. He couldn’t be more excited. Truck is in great condition and maintained.

$4k in repairs coming for the beater car as well. I'd atleast get $6k plus if it was a car.

We did a used A4 that was in insanely good condition. We have twins so it was a one for 2 deal. Also, it was based on safety ratings and the fact our boys are super humble and grounded.......no snob factor.

Besides, we’re in the woodlands. It’s a very average vehicle for that high school.

2015 bought with 37k miles

You can find an 05 Accord for $4k. Though I would advise going with an 06. Best looking Accord they ever made imo.
