When you sell $6000 residential treadmills you don't need much traffic. I also always assumed they were supplying the local gyms but who knows.

Ruffin tried to hit on my GF one time coked up. What kind of dining experience is that? Dude walked around the dining room kissing on women like he's Richard Dawson.

That's part of the dining experience! RIP Ruffin.

I absolutely love going sit at the bar at Ruffino's if I'm solo on a weekend. Get me an appetizer and a salad and a couple glasses of wine. A fun time.

is that place somehow really still open?

If you're talking about the place on Florida blvd, it is. I never noticed it until I drove past it yesterday and I am unsure what it is exactly.

Oh, I thought Grand Cinema was the one on Jones Creek. I might be thinking of the wrong thing.

When I was a kid, it was called Oak Cinema.

Ginos's is the only joint in BR where you could find a Mob element. Fun fact, if you wanted a good score, waltz in there with a 3 man crew at 10:30am on a monday morning during football season. easily a million dollars in small bills changing hands.

The owner is a mega dick
Yep. I worked around that area for the past 5 years, and I avoided it all the time because of the post-flood price gouging. I'd stop in the gas bay sometimes to toss my truck's trash, but they didn't get a dollar from me. Decent location but the owner's reputation is well-known (and well-deserved).

My mom lived in that neighborhood behind Fleur de Lis when I was growing up and we used to get takeout from there all the time when I visited her. It's certainly a different style of pizza. I don't care for the pizza at Pastime.

I always wondered how Hobby Towne on airline and Florida stayed open. Im really happy that it is but it seems like Michaels and Hobby Lobby would've done away with it like Target and WalMarks did to toy stores

None of those other places has the selection Hobby Towne does, especially in re scale models

Plus they’re locally owned and super nice and knowledgeable

Just Googled it, turns out Grand Cinema Station is an adult dvd store.

A little different than the Oak Cinema we went to as kids.

Was that the pizza place on Jefferson between Essen and Corporate / Old Hammond?

Same one who ended up on one of those “restaurant nightmares” style shows?

And wouldn’t let you change toppings…

That restaurant makeover show went there. Didn’t take. Closed shortly thereafter

Can’t remember name

I think that's it. Man it had awesome, legit NY style pizza, but I always heard that the owner was nasty to people. Never to me, but still.

There is a Mitsubishi dealership in Baton Rouge.

I don't think I've seen a Mitsubishi on the road in a long time. Do you know anyone that drives one of these things?

She's horrible. The brewery next door could have had a really great partnership with FDL, but nope. The owner would come in and find people who had just finished eating at FDL and walked to the brewery because their car was still in the FDL gravel lot.

I despise Yelp, but the reviews for there are hilarious over the years. They cut you off after 2 beers and they will kick you out if they hear you say a curse word.

My HS best friend worked there and some dude became a regular there. He was always hitting on her and waited until she got off of work one night and was in the parking lot. She told the owner the next day and the owner said they won't be banning him, as he is a regular.

Jones and I went once and they sat us at those weird frosted windows up front, and the floor was lined with brown mildewed towels catching the leaks in the windows.

Capital Campers near Florida Blvd and Stevendale Rd. I remember that place being there when I was a kid and was surprised to see it was still open the other day when I passed through.

From their Google reviews.

"The owner/pizza maker is a total jerk and has the worst attitude I have ever seen in the food industry. He literally moans, groans and complains while he is preparing the pizza. Not sure why he hires people to help him...because he never let's them do anything. All they do is stand there and watch him make pizza...and he is constantly fussing at them."
