For all you Fleur De Lis haters out there, (and I know this is gonna chap some asses), check out the July 2021 issue of 225 Magazine. Their "Best of the Best" cover article lists FDL as the winner in the pizza category with 22.7% of the vote.

This just means FDL was the highest bidder, baw. Not to mention this thread proves FDL has a weird cult following.

The way to order at little village is to stick to their specials and non Italian dishes. I’ve always thought their Italian stuff was pretty average especially considering the price

I usually get the seafood stuffed fish with the fish special.

That is a good one. I cannot imagine how much that property is worth now

Maybe it’s like Staring Motel and the owner is just holding onto it to be a petty a-hole

m not sure it’s closed for good. We live nearby and it appears to still be open. It seems to be open intermittently though. It’ll be closed on random days and times.

Ah okay. Good to know. There was a dumpster filled with building materials in front of the front door a few weeks ago is why I thought it had finally closed.

I can’t imagine that rent is cheap.

Of El Magey? It always has a ton of cars when we pass during Saturday lunch (we do a lot of Saturday lunches at Twin Peaks so pass it often). It’s a brilliant idea. They have all of the mexican favorites on their buffet. Even massive warmers of queso. And they never closed the buffet part during the pandemic I’m pretty sure

I mean people like dive places because they are unique and an experience. I get that, and Fleur de Lis checks that box.

The disgusting building and horrid bitch of an owner play a larger role in my hatred than the taste of the pizza. The pizza being subpar is just the icing on the cake.

How you can manage to go around being so rude that you make every neighboring business hate you is beyond me.

The place is constantly dubbed a BR “institution”, yet the actual ownership does everything they can to piss of their customers. It blows my mind.

I’m a FDL fan but lit pizza getting only 7% less of the votes is not a good example of how popular that are, Lit is an izzos for pizza

Yeah, I think the pizza category is just a bust in general because there are several very solid pizza places and votes get split. Plus, there are various different styles of pizza and some people prefer one style over another.

For example, Rocca is a totally different style of pizza than Red Zep.

Wasn’t it TJ Ribs where the guy blew his brains out in the middle of the restaurant? Was it because the food was so bad?

The dumpster was for the space next to it the new tenant was renovating it. I'm pretty sure Marina's is some sort of money laundering operation.

what do you order there? We went once a long time ago and did not like one thing we ordered. Not even the nachos. How do you mess up brisket nachos? The answer: put pickles on them!

We have a Twin Peaks here in Laffy. The few times I've stopped in there for lunch, I've only ordered the Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad, which is very good, large, has lots of greens, red cabbage, etc.

Had a cup of the deer chili once, years ago.

Can't comment about anything else on the menu.

No, it’s because they found out the owner wasn’t vaccinated. Very sad.

fleur de lis threads are the best.
generally I agree with you but I took an employee there for lunch a month or so ago and it was great LOL. The pizza was tasty and the server was friendly and cheerful

it was like the twilight zone

Okay, I have gone to the one on O'Neal a few times, It has been awhile, but I miss the one in Plaquemine. Squeaky knows how to run a restaurant, but I think he is in a partnership with the one on O'neal.

The space in between them and the pharmacy is being built out for something. That may be what the dumpster is for.

This thread has inspired me to order a fleur de los pizza right now. Haven’t eaten there in years but used to love the round the world. I agree that her ambiance/atmosphere sucks but for take away pizza it is hard to beat.
