LV is much better than Most Italian places.
We went last week for my moms bday bc it was her favorite for a long time. We all looked at each other afterwards and said “last time”.
The Alfredo was so bland that it was like cardboard. The pricing is outrageous for what you get. It cost me $200 for myself and 3 kids.

Strip club by old Earl K Long. may have finally closed. Was open for sure for more than 40 yrs and never saw more than 2-3 cars there. We used to figure it was a mafia money laundering business pushing $20K a night across the bar on the books...

Also idk about Alexandria but the vacuum store on Florida at Little John has a huge housekeeper following and sells high end brands that you can't purchase at big box stores. My whole family purchases there. Owner is from Central and knows his stuff. If you did not know that it is a small dumpy building in the hood.

See, I've always really enjoyed my meals at Little Village, but I also play it pretty safe. Lasagna is my go-to Italian meal and it is pretty hard to screw it up. Have a decent red sauce and load that thing down with cheese, and you can't go wrong.
That said, I never ever go. We do DiGiulio's every week and sprinkle in Gino's once or twice a year, so LV doesn't make it into the mix much.

The 'man of the shop' sadly passed away and left it to his 'grecian-formula' jet black 60+ widow/bitch to run. She and her obnoxious femdom 'staff' do a great 'job' at running off the paying customers left and right ! Cleanliness ? I think not !

I'm surprised Marina's Mexican on Perkins by Maxwells Market stayed open as long as it did. It was a bit of a running joke that every time we passed it, we were shocked it was still open. Finally I passed the other day and it was closed down for good.
Ate there once and it was standard Mexican food and all tasted fine, but it was missing something that sets it apart to keep the doors open. Mexican restaurants either thrive on authenticity, or thrive on atmosphere. With neither, it is an uphill battle.

As a full blooded Italian, I typically don't get Alfredo at any restaurant. It's the easiest of the sauces to make and perfect at home, but for some reason restaurants aren't good at mass producing good Alfredo sauce. This is not a defense of LV, but a knock on all Italian restaurants. Alfredo is the plain white bread of pasta sauces. Why can't places get it right? It's very easy.

Main reason that has stayed open as long as it has, from what I have heard, is that EBR only had a very select number of licenses issued for sexual activity and they were tied to the address.
They had one, Gold Club (now Penthouse) has one, etc. If NBR wanted titties, they went to the Earl or drove across the river.

Oh wow I still remember their commercial jingle from the 80s or 90s.

For me, it has to be Mr. Gatti’s at the intersection of Perkins and Essen. I don’t understand how you sell so many pizza buffets to justify not selling that property.

That is a good one. I cannot imagine how much that property is worth now.

I don't know how Applebee's on Airline is still kicking, that place is horrible. I saw Joe's crab shack finally shutdown which was long overdue.
Bring Sicily's back! I remember that place being pretty good as a kid.
