I’d you have to breed it with AI and vet has to perform a c-section, seems it shouldn’t be. Nor can they do much of anything. That includes all of them. Frenchies, super pocket bullies, etc. There is a vet in Metairie who must make a killing breeding these dogs. The clientele is not stellar either.

Cause I saw a video of a bulldog that had to wear a muzzle when it went outside after a snow because the dumbass would eat so much snow that it would get sick.

This is true for the majority of dog breeds tbh

Because English bulldogs are basically the most physically deformed and stunted you can make a dog, and it's cruel to do that to any animal.

Larger athletic dogs such as boxers, they'd thrive in a pack in the wild.
A lot of the little shits, they could go jaws-first into a burrow and get lots of things like rabbits, rodents etc.

An 80 lb dog with 8 inch legs can't run, has cardio troubles out the wazoo, can't do anything but waddle around. The more inbred they are, the more issues it will have just making it through the day.

My mom had an uncle she used to tell us about him and his English bulldog. He taught the dog to hold a lit cigarette in its mouth for fun.

Not all bulldogs are made the same. You find a good breeder that hasn't been doing inbreeding then you can get a perfectly healthy Bulldog. Normally the flatter the face, the more inbreeding that has occurred. It didn't help that the big dog shows champion bulldogs were seriously inbreed with mother and son type breeding, which only encouraged other breeders to do it. They have been cracking down on that more now. Though it would takes ages to reverse the damage done.

That being said, my bulldogs were the happiest dogs I ever had. It's pretty easy to let them have a good life, you just have to be a conscious dog owner and they won't be miserable. In Louisiana summers they can't be outside very long and instead of a 2 mile walk, you just make a small trip around the block or up and down the street. Instead of them jus swimming non stop, you put a life jacket on them and let them swim for a little bit then cool off. You do most of your playing with them inside.

That's not for everybody Some people just want an outside dog or a dog that can go on a 5k run with them. You just don't get that with a bulldog and have to find other ways to entertain them. They want to sleep most of the time anyway. It is pretty cruel for some of them, but it's mainly due to their owners not knowing how to be bulldog owners. It's not the same as being a regular dog owner (hence the example earlier in the thread of the guy throwing him in the pool and having to save him out of the deep end). The loving nature, and fun personality more than makes up for the potential extra vet bills that might come with them.

Enjoy the time you have left with him. I had to put mine down last May. He was 13. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss ole hard head. I still find myself watching my 6 when I open the pantry door still expecting him to come barreling in to see what I might drop on the floor.

i am an animal lover and i have a few friends that have bulldogs that absolutely adore them. I really can't find the appeal in them though. They seem to have a ton of breathing difficulties and skin conditions and the ones I know aren't very obedient..to each his own though.

American bulldog

Useful, healthy, makes sense

English bulldog and French bulldogs are unhealthy and have no use

To further this

Why do American college football teams use an English bulldog, who is useless, fat, and ugly, over an actual American bulldog which is strong, muscle bound, and you know, AMERICAN

My border collie met his first bulldog a couple of weeks ago. My dog spent a while sniffing the bulldog's face and I could tell he was thinking, "Dude...what happened to your nose?!?"

Our French bulldog is pretty funny, stubborn as shite (as are most puppies)

As someone with a 12 yo Frenchie, I'll tell you it'll never lose its stubbornness. But good news is that it will also always be hilarious.

This proves that you have no idea what you are talking about. English Bulldogs aren’t fat. They are one big muscle. Some may become overweight, but so do other breeds if they don’t get regular exercise.

My frenchie doesn’t have allergies or breathing issues. She loves the dog park and can run with the big dogs. She is hilarious. Watches tv and loves to be in a lap most of the time. They are great companions.
