why are they called "buffalo" wings?

Actually watched a show on history channel last week about this exact topic. I already knew it was because they were started in Buffalo, but didn't know all the backstory in the show.

A boneless wing would be fricking gross…they should have someone debone an order of raw chicken wings, toss that mess into a frier and then in sauce and have this asshat eat them. See you don’t even want what you say you want.

No one orders them thinking they are deboned chicken wings.

Those wings are too small to make a chicken fly. Let's sue all the chickens.

I think we’d need to sue God in that case

from 2019...
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson also banned food manufacturers from marketing a product as “cauliflower rice,” if it doesn’t contain any actual rice at all.

Bc they originated in Buffalo, NY…….

Yep. And there are various sometimes conflicting stories of the origins of the first ones. One fairly interesting story that I've heard (not necessarily an accurate one) was that a group of people were temporarily stuck in a bus stop / diner / bar in Buffalo because of a snow storm. They made do with what they had on hand which happened to be chicken wings and the ingredients that became buffalo wings.

Neither is a mini drumstick
you don’t think that’s part of the wing?

You don't think it's a small stick that's used to beat a drum? The court system should put their foot down hard on people that file frivolous lawsuits such as boneless wings not being wings. Everyone that's not an idiot knows it's just a marketing phrase, as does the fellow that filed this lawsuit. A waste of valuable court time and tax dollars.

Hell yeah, I love Republicans and their love for government over-reach and essential over-regulation.

If you go to a bbq joint and they have ribs and boneless ribs on the menu I would not be expecting a plate of pulled pork

I like the boneless ones if I don't want to get my hands messy. I understand that I'm getting a plate of sauced up chicken nuggets.

What are we complaining about here? That prime rib isn't inherently graded as prime?

people have been conditioned to expect less.

I'm sure when "boneless wings" first came out there were plenty that thought they deboned a wing. because that's what they said they did. Now we all know its a lie and are just going along with it.

America used to be great - now we just accept whatever cut of meat they want to give us as long as its got the same sauce on it. fricking sad.

Bone in rib-eye? Great.
rib-eye w/ no bone? we gave you hanger steak but put the same seasoning on it.

bbq ribs? great.
boneless ribs? we gave you a plate of pulled pork but its the same sauce.

fried chicken - dark meat please? great.
We gave you fried chicken breast but its the same breading and seasoning.

Parts of animals have specific names and have different textures and flavors. That's why we order white or dark meat before we pull forward for the spicy. Lowering your standards so a big corporation can give you a lesser product is sad.

Dear lord this is the problem with soft America today. Its a damn chicken nugget, no wing looks like that, eat it, don't eat it, move on with life. Do not file a lawsuit about it, that is just some damn lawyers trying to get paid.

No you’re the one trying to turn an argument you should have at the sports bar when you are bored with your friends into a legal case.

This is a perfect example of post peak America.

Banking system drowning, hopelessly divided politically and this guy wants to lock up the courts arguing about what constitutes a “wing”.
