Obvious things like two LSU undergrads earning $250k a year each? That's not a thing

$5k a year for maintenance on a $1.5mm house isn't shite. A house like hat could easily have a $40k roof. Fancy refrigerator can cost $2k to fix etc etc.

First, is that a realistic amount for child care? $42k a year?
Could be. Figure $2k/month for 2 kids, thats $48k/year.

You can definitely shite on these people
But I do think the idea that high earners can easily (and without too much irresponsibility) end up average for their surroundings is pretty accurate. You're not getting breaks that the middle class get but you're not getting write offs that small business owners and the truly rich do. You're probably from a major city and continue to live there, which means higher COL and private schools and more money spent to maintain your earning capability.
I'm not mourning for these people, but I get it to an extent. And while there are plenty of ways to improve their standing, a lot of truly radical changes whereby they'd move from high earners to legitimate wealth would require moving, and that isn't always feasible/possible for high earners.

I love when poor people start critiquing finances of wealthy.

This is dumb.
How can someone that lives in a $1.5M home, drive a Landcruiser, max out a 401k and take 3 vacations a year feel “average”.
The average person also isn’t giving nearly $20k to charity or spending $2500/year every year on clothes.
These people are clearly very well off, they just spend all of their money.
Yeah, I don't even understand what this is supposed to be laying out. Just the notion that they feel average? Stupid.

Seriously, cut out the donations completely and limit it to one vacation a year. They’d be left with $37300 for the year.
They aren’t average. They are overspending on stupid stuff.

No, no, no. A Kia? Lexus? Infinity? Yea, so much better than an M6 GC.

The Kia K900 is ranked higher than BMW 6 series. Lexus, Infinity or Audi are all 3 better quality than BMW.

They need a reality check.
With regard to what?
Everybody generally thinks they are middle class. I don't get the notion that this is some sort of huge problem.

You can put more into your 401k than 18k if that is what you are getting at.

Spending almost $90k post-tax for housing is like either living in Manhattan or living in a giant overpriced house.

How to appreciate what they have and that they're far from from living an average life.

Have you seen the cost of living in Berlin? It's higher than giraffe pussy.

The reality check they need is:
"are you enjoying the life that comes at a higher price"
-If so, you're not average, you're just average for the wealthy people and area you've elected to live/stay in. Your kids probably go to better schools, you go on better trips, you drive nicer cars, you live in a nicer house.
If you don't care about that shite, try to downgrade everything and make the same incomes and stockpile money.
