It’s almost like people are mad when Louisiana finally gets something relevant.

Maybe it’s the ones who fled the state. They’re mad. They’ll be real mad if the state actually improves under a republican governor

Funny that as soon as JBE leaves office, businesses start wanting to come back.
JBE got rid of the tax credits that Buc-ee’s was promised to build on I-12 in BR

You mean both cars on I-49 would stop there?

Natchitoches would be a gold mine and like you said take all of the I-49 commerce.

Slidell would be a good place - where 12, 10, and 59 come together

Well … maybe not Slidell

Don't be ridiculous. There were 6 cars on I-49 just last week.

We’re gonna need about 50 years worth of studies first.

would make more sense to do something at the lobdell exit imo.

Oh hell no. From that exit to the river is always bottlenecked for some reason. You add a Bucee's to that and it's going to completely stall.

It's better off at the Lafayette area they are talking about.

Weren’t they eying land for a similar location near Lafayette about 10 years ago?

I seem to remember reading about it here, baws getting excited about a new hunting stop, it fell through, another La location east of BR was discussed, that fell through…they said frick La and started opening stores elsewhere.

Am I having false memories?

Nope, that is correct. They were looking at this same location 8-10 years ago but decided to stay away from Louisiana due to political reasons

Besides the location in Ruston, this one would make the most sense. Close to basin bridge & not on Baton Rouge side. Feel bad for all those new super gas stations being built in that area though.

Pretty sure they are already building one 20 miles to the East of where you’re talking about.

If so, will be the trashiest Buc-ees within a year after opening.

I don't know, have you seen the trash that vacations at Gulf Shores these days?

I don’t. They’re almost always owned and ran by people from across the world. Never local owned. Locals working there. Sure buccees isn’t local but it’s an American company one state away.

that location would get shoplifted out of existance. That is walking distance to Rue Royale.

That’s why they’re opening one in Ms and now two in La. It’ll completely alleviate the log jam at Gulf shores
