I don't get why anyone would want to fly from BR to Houston. For all the time it takes to travel to the airport, having to get there early, check bags, the actual flight itself, baggage claim, then having to get a cab/ride/rental once you get to Houston....it's less time to drive the 4 hours to Houston and you don't have to find alternate means of transportation in Houston.
BR to Dallas would make more sense

Doesn't delta operate 717s in BTR?
It's been a while since I've flown into BTR on something other than a Boeing 717, which I think is a 110 seat jet.

Probably to connect to a United flight somewhere else.

If they do this, it changes my world. I am tired of flying DC to NOLA.

I rarely fly BTR due to price concerns. Southwest would largely fix that. If they could get a non-stop to L.A. That would help the movie industry as well.

This.....not sure why they are getting our hopes up. I'm told this will never happen anytime soon. Trying to grow MSY

While I so hope this will happen, it won't happen.
BTR is a shite airport. frick, Jafrica's is bigger.
If BTR was able to even get temporary SWA flights aftwe Katrina, they aren't getting permanent ones.

I wonder what % of MSY traffic is from BTR?
BTR has about 800k passengers a year. If there's 50% leakage, 400k are going to MSY.
MSY has 10M passengers. I find it hard to believe that only 4% of MSY traffic is from BR metro.

I save 2.5 hours flying vs. driving. And that's if there's no traffic.

It takes all of 10 minutes to get from your car to the gate in BTR.
I'd kill for SW flights to BTR. We fly in and out of New Orleans when going to BR as Southwest flights are 30% what it costs to fly in to BTR on another airline.

Please make this happen BR!
Would love to fly SW out of BR or better yet Lafayette instead of driving to Nola.

In a perfect world they'd come to BTR and fly to Hobby, Love, and ATL to start off and keep the legacies honest.

BTR has been courting SWA for ages, but with the reduced guarantees they formerly sought, maybe they are ready for BR's numbers?
I've asked forever of someone I know on their Commision, when are we getting SWA.
Liked Frontier while we had them, even with having to go to Denver, to then go west..not quite a B-line.

ATL is a WN focus city since their merger with AirTran. If they came into BR and rattled the big dogs' cages a little you'd see prices drop and people coming back to BTR en masse.

Please make this happen. I'm so tired of flying to and from BR in a jet powered crop duster. I rather drive to N.O. and get some leg and elbow room especially when you have a wildebeest sitting next to you.
