i'm sure it's the police's fault. chased the guy caused him to drop his gun and it went off.

What are the chances that the pants this guy was wearing was about 4 sizes too big?

WBRZ: Shooting at Walmart

You could take cover behind the multitudes of shopping carts in the parking lot there. That Walmart has more shopping carts on the outside than on the inside.

Guns just don't "go off" when dropped.

I was there about 1230, so just missed the excitement. They do have one of those "Lot Cop" towers with a bunch of cameras.( and music blaring in that parking lot.) It will be interesting to see if those are actually useful or not.

The good old days when a black owned businesses made black owned Cortana Mall a thriving part of the Baton Rouge Economy? I don’t remember that time.

How about the entire campus is completely reimagined into something that isn’t a retail destination?

There will come a time when all retail stores will require shoppers to have a credit card on file, like some of the new Apple stores do. When you walk out the door with any item it automatically gets charged to your credit card. I wouldn't mind shopping at a store with that system if it meant getting rid of these blatant shoplifters.

I wouldn't mind it solely to avoid having to wait in line to checkout or interact with anyone in the store.

ETA: I wonder if BRPD/EBRSO have sent out "DO NOT KILL THIS GUY" messages to their officers in the area

if it did away with the markup retailers have in place to make up for shoplifting.

Went to the Dillard's Outlet

I remember one of my last trips to the real Dillards Cortana. It was the Friday before the Texas National Championship series. Was to headed to Omaha In the morning for first game Monday. Ran in and grabbed a purple polo with the gold polo horse.
Actually paid for it.

I pulled up to the Lowes behind Cortana right around 2:00. As I walked to the door, police cars start zooming around the Lowes parking lot. I quickly got the hell out of there. I drove in front of Wal Mart on the way out and the parking lot was full of people, plus a fire truck. Driving away from there on Airline, I passed at least 20 more police cars heading in that direction.
