“NEW: Brown University is the third Ivy League school to return to requiring standardized testing for admissions.

Like Dartmouth and Yale, Brown reports that “an applicant’s test scores are a strong predictor of a student’s performance once enrolled.”

Oh, don't you worry yourself. There'll still be plenty of DEI grifts and racial set-asides.

Brown has a reputation for being a “hippie” school and the least prestigious among the Ivies. Also known as the Berkeley of the Ivy League.

Agree. Standardized test privilege makes me absolutely sick. My wife’s son will get no assistance from me on his ACT.

Is this like being the poorest of the billionaires club? It’s still the Ivy League.

Their flexible curriculum allowing students to choose their course of study is a pretty good idea. I would rather go to Brown than Dartmouth or Cornell. Those two don’t fit in.

Lot of prestigious institutions coming to the realization that they were diluting their brand. It took them years to figure out what us simpletons knew all along

Sounds like they gathered data during the "test optional" years and decided that testing is actually useful.

It’s a good trend.

Liberals are 100% ruled by emotion and not logic. They adopt stupid knee-jerk policies in reaction to the outrage of the moment, only to realize years later what a stupid thing it was to do. See defund the police for another prime example.

Whatever you change the system to that administers admission criteria then rich people will just game the system.

I can promise you that. Be it grades, test scores, essay and personal narrative.

Only thing you couldn’t fake would be W-2s.

In others words, “we’ve decided to stop lying about what was obvious when we first decided we wouldn’t factor in test scores. Because, while we look like idiots right now, nobody is that damned stupid”.
