There's confusion over who will enforce @MayorBroome's face covering mandate. Both the @EBRSheriff and @EBRDA said they were not briefed about the executive order before it was announced. @WBRZ

She’s basically just enabled stores to feel comfortable about posting masks required , at entrances.

They are supposed to police ppl at the door or not allow a check out? then choose to shop elsewhere

I'm sure most on this board will not wear a mask and we'll be watching European soccer on TV the rest of the year.

Wearing a mask won’t get sports here any sooner.

The goalposts keep moving for covid nationwide.

I wore a mask into Winn Dixie today and felt like a cuck. Weirdly though I’ve watched so much hotwife porn lately that it really turned me on.

God this melt has been glorious. Sensitive little rednecks have turned into pms'ing soccer moms over a mask

The melt is with the mayor throwing a tantrum and requiring people to comply with an overall unenforceable mandate, one in which she didn’t even discuss with any other authorities, especially those she wishes to potentially enforce such mandate. It’s laughable

ETA; I always where my gator mask around my neck.. I’m not an a-hole and if I enter a business and they want it worn, I’ve got no issue wearing it but threatening people with summons and fines is ridiculous

St. George Facebook page:

While we encourage residents to socially distance themselves and take precautions, we would never mandate with penalty of criminal offense (court summons and monetary fine), the wearing of a face covering. We believe in personal responsibility and freedom.

Didn’t get to see her presser. Are we supposed to wear masks in restaurants and bars?

In theory, yes. But almost all businesses are going to follow it STRICTLY out of CYA (even if doing so reluctantly). There is ALWAYS an employee looking for a reason to sue or a Karen on a never ending quest to be world hero by complaining via Facebook or otherwise about a “non-complaint” business.

So while the legal effect mat be questionable, it won’t matter much because the practical effect will be enough. The police won’t have to enforce it. Our “benevolent” SJW’s and Karen’s will take care of that for all of us

DA to discuss legality or enforcement
A good friend of mine is a detective, and texted me as she’s announcing this “order”. He said she has no legal authority to enforce it, and would be thrown out of any court State, or federal. There’s already BR attorneys advertising on Facebook to call them if issued a summons. This shite will blow up in her face like a huge facial. Based on her term as mayor it’s pretty on par with the norm.
I’m all for honoring a business owners request. They can request a customer wear one, and as a customer I can shop elsewhere. I fully intend not to step foot in BR until the orders lifted. So there’s that side.

I took an oath to support the Constitution and laws of the United States as well as the Constitution and laws of the state of Louisiana. I have an obligation to not enforce laws that I believe are unlawful and violate the Constitutional rights of others.

Most of my colleagues feel the same way.

Draw your own conclusions.

It really has more to do with the form of government and our local officials being unwillingly to legislate criminal ordinances from the executive branch. We do have a unique form of Government even for Louisiana but the City-Parish ordinances do not apply to incorporated municipalities in general in EBRP.

Yep. You might as well go ahead and lay on the railroad tracks now. Poor you.
