Those courses are Santa Maria, Beaver Creek, and Webb Memorial. Woody Dumas, JS Clark, and Historic City Park courses will reopen Friday, May 1.

Sounds like 4-5 rounds incoming on wed/thurs.

Hell, City Park may actually have grass on the fairways for the first time in years.....

how is a tax payer funded entity opening and yet we can't conduct tax PAYING businesses?

Maybe things have changed, but because of Santa Maria and Beaver Creek, I don't think the golf courses use much tax money if any.

I wish. Apparently you haven't seen the weather forecast

Stop splitting hairs.
You know exactly what the point was.

You would be way wrong.

Honestly not that upset about it. Santa Maria has been borderline anarchy ever since it’s been free and usually can’t even think about playing a round in less than 4.5 hours.
Plus I’m more than ready for golf carts again.

I have a picture of 9 people waiting to tee off on hole #10 at SM

Not surprised at all. Most recent day I went, we waited at least 5 minutes after we got to our balls to hit every god damn shot, routinely getting to the tee box before the group in front was able to hit their tee shots. Stuck behind a group of 6 brothers 4 holes ahead and just destroyed any chance at a reasonable pace of play.
Been going to Beaver, Copper and The Bluffs ever since just to avoid the shite show.

I've played 10 rounds since quarantine and not one went over 4:15

This was a good move by BREC.

This. The jackass groups of 5 who would bring their wagons full of beer, stereo and golf clubs ruined it. And people just jumping in and playing wherever they wanted didn't help.
Last week I played there and was moving fine til I got to 9. As I was walking to the tee box, some fat frick and his kid just showed up out of nowhere in a golf cart and teed off and they were slow as frick.
Then when I finally got past him, I make the turn at 10 and a group of 6 old fricks have decided they are going to play and start their round there with no regard to who was behind them.
I said frick it and haven't been back. Have probably walked Webb 4 times instead since then.
Paying up at Santa Maria will definitely be worth it now. I enjoyed the "free" while it lasted.

I tried Santa Maria 1 time. Arrived at 8am. Parking lot was full. Thought the worst but it was actually a quick front 9. Get to the 10th and see about 60 guys around the first tee and practice green waiting to play.
Frick that
Webb and City Park have been awesome for quick weekday rounds

I've heard it's the wild west out there. All the hacks have taken over lol.

What tax paying business can you not run right now? Serious question.
And yes, I know that bars, movie theaters and other entertainment type venues are closed - but what else?
Small retail can open with curbside service, restaurants have been serving to go food and drinks. all industry is open. The list of exceptions to the stay at home order is a mile long...
