Actor Dean Norris criticized people who are complaining about soaring gas prices across the United States.
I’ve interacted with him irl, guy is a piece of excrement. Let’s just say I’ve seen him on set and he treats everyone like trash.

May have been true until Trump.

99% of people working in "Hollywood" are all reading the same script .... none of them should ever be taken seriously when it comes to real life.
hell, most of them likely don't even believe what they're saying, but they know that they have to toe the line for the Democrat Party if they want to continue to get work.

Tell Dean to come shut me up.
Also, it’s not capitalism that is driving the prices up. It’s a tyrannical government’s policies that is doing that. He can go frick himself.

I think it was still quite true with him as well if you look at where the people he put into positions came from.

He's a millionaire. Of course it doesn't affect him.

I don't know about you guys, but the government regulating the ever-loving shite out of an industry while trying to tank it screams capitalism to me.

What if the sitting President is the reason for the high gas prices???????
Posted on 6/19/22 at 10:27 pm to EarlyCuyler3
Well if you want to draw that line you can with just about anything.

war
It's funny how a war we are not directly involved in is drastically affecting gas prices. Somehow, the entire time we were directly involved in war with all the various Muslim countries, this was not an issue.

Sure. It's especially true with any politician.

Wars: directly involved in versus not directly involved in
(and their impact on US fuel prices)
If only life were so simple…
One war followed a pandemic when, during pandemic period, oil price went negative (May 2020) for first time in history. When you are effectively paying others to take the thing you normally sell for a profit, you are disincentivized to drill and build product inventories. Quite the opposite.
As pandemic restrictions lifted and demand ramped up across 2021, steeper end 2021 into 2022, particularly a Europe (UK specific noted example), this is the context setting of then Russia’s artillery-stacking on Ukraines border, spooking world’s oil market. Subsequent Sanctions once invasion started and the proceeding disentanglement of Russian oil dependence in Europe (that is still happening today), effectively re-engineering Europe’s energy supply and structurally shifting supply-Demand curves, is one big time difference between the wars that you speak of.

If it was purely a case of supply and demand, then he might have a point. But government has purposefully manipulated the supply side of the equation.

Maybe. But I’d prefer to see the evidence before I buy into it based only on some vague supposition.

What an idiot. The OPEC Cartel and the Democrats are interfering with the capitalist market, dumbass! What a clown!
Posted on 6/20/22 at 2:30 am to Byrdybyrd05
When the ruling party running things makes their war on American energy the first thing they do when they take office, it’s not longer some capitalist fair market argument anymore. It’s an orchestrated attack on all things American energy.
The GOVERNMENT has done every bit of this, and there’s no hiding from that. It’s a matter of record.

It's just human behaviour. People give you money, they expect something in return in situations like this. I get what you're saying. People don't just give hundreds of thousands and millions without some expectations though when it comes to politics.
