We would have ran from the cops but never confront them like those kids did. Those kids are bold with a tendancy towards violence. It’s learned behavior and I don’t see how it’ll stop. Our inner city youth are a lost cause.

Couldn't even cover the over. Sad.

Better, 9am like summer camp. The troublemakers just went to bed.
Looks like progress at least...
no injuries and no shots fired
Social commentary from Raeion's video:
At -8:34: "Where the hell is Eddy"!
-6:42: "Dey slingin' girls on the ground".
-5:29: "Uh huh. Uh huh. Oh shite".
-4:26: Big policewoman walking around ratcheting that taser sound. Dey scatter.
-4:09: "We gotta do better with these chilren bro".
-1:15: "Teach ya'll f'in chilren respect".
Dayum. Baton Rouge needs to elect Raeion for Mayor. She ain't takin' no shite.

Look at all those fathers out there looking for their kids.

It’s a shame that it’s true one should avoid certain events and areas. Nobody says it and everyone tries to appease. Can’t help but wonder why Nola hasn’t opened its free pools or installed splash pads. The council might be useless, but they probably know what will happen.

Not just a name change - you are the loser. Since the Supreme Court ruling, property values have been inching up faster than just a few hundred feet from St George

I just saw where that is. Why on earth would they put an attraction like that in a good area? At the very least charge like $500 or more for the summer and make it membership only. Goodwood, etc. can afford it. Trash ruins everything.

Anything that's free in BR is going to be a rough crowd usually and this place is hood adjacent.

Kinda surprised there was no gun play but I realized that it would be pretty difficult to smuggle a gun in a speedo (already too full) or a thong bikini (grossly overflowing).

Anything 1) free 2) easily accessible to the poor is destined to get fricked up

Not surprised at all. This is what happens when you put together a bunch of kids that have never received any discipline or guidance in their homes and they become wild animals! We can continue to blame the police, teachers and elected officials for their actions, but the reality is everything starts at home, period!
Sadly, it's only going to get worse because we don't want to face the reality of the situation because groups like the NAACP and other organizations will scream racism. As a result, we will continue to bury our head in the sand and deflect the blame on someone else.
Just remember, deflecting blame is not, and never will be, a successful solution!

Liberty Lagoon was developed in response to Blue Bayou’s position on the impoverished community.

What the mayor needs to do is provide the role models for the youths because the parents just won’t.
Forget the parents. The parents are the lost cause. The only adults I saw were the police.
The mayor needs to align with strong African American Organizations like 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge and get those men to the events to lead by example. Mentor. Provide the role models, ON SITE, that these children severely lack.
