Works in New Orleans but let's ignore that and bring on the BR shitter-onners to pile on the comments about its imminent failure in Baton Rouge.

Shush Jones. It'll work here too.

I used the bikeshare program in Dallas. it was great

DC had a ton of electric scooters which I would have used had the people I was with not been a bunch of pansies

New Orleans is way more bike friendly than BR, they also have a higher number of hipsters and tourist from bike friendly cities.

True. I'm sure there is a feasibility study or something that could use the money.

I couldn’t think of a worse idea. Let’s put bikes for the people of BR to share lmao. I’m willing to bet someone gets shot over a bike in the first 48 hours.

I’d be more concerned about someone getting run over.

Most cities find these programs aren't worth it. Chattanooga has had it for awhile, it's neat for a little bit, but not worth the cost to the city.

Well, they can just use the new, wasteful bike path they're putting in between downtown and Scotlandville

These are cool in cities like San Diego and Denver, but I can't see it being successful in Baton Rouge. Check out this article on the failure of these bike systems in DC and other cities: LINK

Bikeshare is a DISASTER in Dallas.

Fort Worth? Of course we are nailing it over here in Funky Town.

The CBD, French Quarter and Uptown/Garden District (at least up St. Charles Ave.) are all kind of easy to bike through. You can pretty much just stay on St. Charles or Magazine St. and hit most of the tourist spots.

Where the hell are people going to bike in Baton Rouge? Maybe they can take the new 10 mile bike superhighway BREC wants to build from Scotlandville Pkwy. to Downtown BR.? Haven't you always dreamed of riding a bike in hot, humid conditions through North Baton Rouge?

People who say this exact thing.

Trust me when I say that's literally the first thing the bike people worry about.

Each bike has GPS tracking. The app shows where they are.
Next, every screw and bolt is torqued very high and the bolts and screws are all security style.

Lastly the steel lock is built into the bike.
If it's not locked someone is being charged.

They aren't getting stolen.
