WAIT WAIT WAIT.....WTF happened to community policing???

The damn state troopers ain't doing no community policing....they don't know the community.

These people live in an idealistic and unrealistic world where they think their "community" will unite against violence. She has surrounded herself with people as inept as she is.

It just cracks me up that she's confused as to why she has a dept staffed far below it's needs, with no sign of filling the empty spots, after campaigning on cop-bashing.

When you demonize a department that has kept violent crime to a minimum and suggest that it needs a complete overhaul, you're gonna get some blowback .

You can't reason with people who grow up with crime as a way of life. "Community programs" and bullshite midnight basketball foolishness will not stop any of it.

Well, you also can't reason with people who never accept responsibility for anything either. Her surrogates all accept that there is a serious violent crime issue yet none of them want to accept the proven methods to combat the problem because that means the issues that they've been railing against for a year and a half are correct. It's the same old nonsense - "we can acknowledge the problem but you can't tell us what to do about it because it's our problem and your suggestions are racist". Having fish fries, playing basketball, and having anti-violence rallies feel good but they don't do jack shite in combating the actual problem.

I think the key is to somehow vaguely lead them to a solution but let them think it was their idea.

Kip Holden let the numbers in the BRPD fall below what was required.

SWB and her diatribe signaled to the bad guys that we weren't going to be tough on crime.

We are seeing the result of their actions now.

The thugs know the numbers are down, the mayor is handcuffing the cops and they have become emboldened.

Turning on street lights and removing old cars isn't going to do anything.

We need more and better trained cops and more honest people to get involved and to rat out all these thugs that are making so many neighborhoods war zones.

The white man isn't their enemy. They need to understand who really is.

lolwut. From where? Troop A is already short troopers. So we, as citizens, are going to pay troopers from outlying areas to drive in, work, and then drive home?

frick that. This is a lazy man's answer.

Be a better leader and get your fricking head out your arse.

Proactive policing stops per her committee's recommendation. Murders then rise dramatically. Now we need state police involved. Her admin is a cluster

"educated and responsible" black citizens, KNOW what the problems plaguing their communities are ! Problem is, the minute they experience a modicum of upward mobility/success...they high-tail AWAY from the hood and NEVER look back = total lack of leadership/role models !
And who can really blame them ? The void that is left are elected "politicos" and the few business people left in the hood...to PROFIT off what's left, govt.' hand outs/programs etc. !

They're probably being paid by the bars to sit there and keep the riff raff out and handle the fights that are sure to happen.

Just another reason this clueless mayor needs to go.
No one wants that headache of dealing with her leadership.
Who would state police report too?
They have enough staffing issues dealing with their own issues.

I thought it was a bad idea when it was done in NOLA.

Doing it in BR is papering over existing issues directly or indirectly caused by shitty leadership decisions like “encouraging” Dabadie to retire and pretty much making the firing of the Sterling incident officers a prerequisite for becoming chief.

Like I said, these are people who are inexperienced, arrogant, egotistical, idealistic, and just flat-out dumb. They live in a world where everything can be fixed by a hokey community program for the kids. They want the police to stop crime, but they don't want the police in their neighborhood. They want to have a community program for everything, but want someone else to pay for it. They want their neighborhoods to be nice, but they don't want their property values to rise. They want to be like the white neighborhoods but don't want whites to live in their neighborhoods. They want to integrate majority white schools, but want all black schools.

These people have the most ridiculous views of reality and have self-conflicting ideologies that are completely un-achievable.

This shows we need to do away with BRPD and pull our resources into one parish dept which would be the EBRPSO.

If she is all up in arms about how BRPD is smoking criminals, wait til LSP starts dropping them like flies...then what is she going to do? LSP boys don't play...They won't play these games SWB wants to play...

The shortfall of BRPD personnel is easily explained as well as the rise in murders.
1. Who wants to work for SWB who does nothing but handcuff cops and hang them out to dry.
2. No one wants to be damned if you do, damned if you don't? If I had 10yrs left before my pension and faced with her, I would be reactive as possible...I'm not going look for anything....respond to calls given and that's it.

Never going to change with this moron in office and BR will suffer for it....Let's just pray on it!!! Gimme a break
